I'd seriously look at setting up a bank account and paypal, then get the free debit card there (it looks like a mastercard on the web).

save yourself a minimum of $36/year.

That's a lot less than monthly interest fees. I am going to look into that!

I had one for years till this last year but now Paypal has decided to be stingy on who they now let have one. When mine expire they wont send one to a PO Box so I am stuck. You have to have a Credit Card to get a Paypal Debit card as well. They have to certify by your Credit Card billing address that you are legit. So I switch to a Walmart Moneycard when mine expired.

I still use my paypal with my bank account but only at places that take Paypal.

My mom buys a green dot moneypak and calls me when the number and I load it right onto my card via the website. It's her way of giving me money when needed. Hubby he takes it a reload center a walmart and surprises me sometimes with book money.

I have never had nor want a paypal debit card. when I get money in paypal, I transfer it right out. They have too much control over the accounts as it is. I am not leaving a sum of money in their to freeze at their discretion.

Too true. I've never had it happen to me but my friend did but he did get it unfroze later but they closed his account.

I have two cards and charge everything; including food and utilities. I like the cash back rewards. I pay my cards off in full every month, so no late fees or interest.

This is what I do. I use an AMEX that gives me 2% on all purchases. Plus bonus Worldpoints when shopping online although I don't do this very often.
