Nope. Not on lock screen. Just on home page. Or even in an app. Just shuts off. SIL is the same. Just shuts off. No dimming. We both got the update to 6.2. Both of ours have not updated yet to 6.2.1 yet.

Interesting. O well.

Are we the only 2 on the planet whose Fire does not dim before shutting down.

I'm at 6.2 as well. Strange about (non) dimming...

Mine dims as well now. I sideloaded the most recent update yesterday, was at 6.2 before, but didn't notice any dimming with that version.

I didn't see any dimming with 6.2, I do with 6.2.1.

I'll have to check after the update. It has not updated yet. May have to do the sideload thingy.

I manually installed it on my KF. However, it did it automatically on my daughter's KF which was just purchased this month.

Some people have gotten it as an OTA update, so I'd assume it's been released but is being rolled out in batches as Amazon normally does.

Just to add fuel to the Fire, mine is an AOAO. Must have been the original one. Hope it's more like Data than Lore.

Keep WiFi on all the time to get these updates. Many shut down WiFi most of the time and then wonder what happened to the updates and other syncing while in Sleep Mode.

If you use Shut Down Mode when you are asleep, there will be minimum loss of battery energy. When you are awake, use Sleep Mode with WiFi ON.
