All the time, but I would prefer it if it was 7" screen like my old Android tablet. I find night mode for me is best whether it is in bed with the lights off or sitting in the armchair during the day.

I'm 100% iPad 2 for my e-reading now, and have been since June. I'll guess I've read around 20 books on it so far, and many of them the longer variety. No problems at all.

I read Comics and Magazines on my Ipad but for books it's mostly my Kindle, e-ink and the smaller size is the way to go

I'm quite spoiled with iPad, how easy it is to purchase books from Amazon and Kindle. Also the layout like flipping pages. However it is quite heavy to carry around with me, so a smaller lightweight is an option. Maybe i'll wait and see if there are any Boxing day sales. Last year I fell in love with the pink Sony pocket reader. A 5" screen. But Kindle is nice to, I like to purchase books from Amazon. Am not familiar with Sony store and if it's easy to get books.

love it

I use my iPad as a reader all the time -- when one -- umm -- matures -- one needs more light to read, and I really appreciate the iPad's light and the ability to resize the font.

The only thing I don't like is that after years of falling asleep and waking up with the book falls on my face, falling asleep and having the heavy iPad fall on my face is kinda awful.

I read reference material, usually pdf's and the very rare novel on my iPad2. Most of my fiction is now being read on a Sony T1. I find the diagrams etc are better on the bigger screen and it's easier to see a whole table than try and move back and forwards along columns or rows.

I love having my iPad for browsing and reading news articles but it is way too heavy for me to hold for reading a book. Although sitting in bed with it against my bent knees is great in the mornings, I don't like holding it for too long, so I use my Nook touch for heavy duty reading. I am getting a 7" tablet for Xmas, but still think my reader of choice will be my Nook touch.

I second that. Particularly painful on the nose.

Unable to read off paper, I read off small screens for quite a few years. When I got my iPad, I thought I'd use it for browsing etc. but continue reading books on the iPhone. I was surprised to find I switched all my reading to the iPad.

I sit leaning back, and have the iPad leaning on one knee. It works pretty well. I like the larger screen (less movements in order to turn pages) and I don't find it glare-y.

Rarely - it is too big and heavy for my comfort. I love my iPad for reading Mobileread posts, etc, but I strongly prefer reading books on a Kindle.

I thought the ipad's colour screen would perfect for art books, but that hasn't been the case either. The iPad is a great for laptoppy functions, but I don't care for it as an ereader.

Also, i had problems falling asleep when reading in bed with it. The day I got my Kindle, the problem stopped. I think the backlit screen was interfering with my natural sleep cycle.

I do most of my reading on the iPad and have since the original model was released. Yes, it's heavier than a paperback but lighter than a hardback. I was worried I'd find the screen tiring but it's been great to read on.

I suspect that some people are more susceptible to eye fatigue than others. Personally, I haven't had the issue reading on my iPad. I feel no real difference in eye fatigue between reading on the iPad and reading on my Sony PRS-505. I'm sure there are some who notice a difference, just like I get headaches using a CRT with low refresh rates while others don't.
