The dogs will go to doggie day camp three of the days that they are there but it is an additional charge to the bill. They get three walks a day and 20 minutes of play with a human each day.

Wow! Very 'regulated!' Sounds more like Japanese style than American.

I stopped at on of the day-care centers in Vermont to ask about the place. While I was there, there was always someone out in the 'yard,' running and playing with a whole bunch of dogs. It really looked as if the dogs were having fun. The human too! Certainly looked like more fun than my room at the Holiday Inn!

Good morning, everyone! Love is in the air!
Big mug of Twining's 'Prince of Wales' tea in my cup, fresh French bread and a thick slab of cheese, a few slices of dry salami, and some olives for breakfast, and a great beginning of a new day!





When I was in Vermont in August, I noticed several 'doggie day-care' centers. Places where working people could take their dogs for some social activity. More than just a 'storage area,' there were humans out in the runs playing with the dogs. These places also did overnight boarding as well, and compared with Japan, were really cheap. If we want to leave Feliciy overnight here, it costs almost $100 a night. In Vermont it was about $20 a night! Day care was just $10. I thought this was a really nice idea for dogs! And for couches and slippers too...



There can be no life without change. The stages of life are; birth, growth (change,) stagnation (no change,) death. Note what follows the 'no change' part... As a Taoist, we say 'you can not step into the same river twice.' The river flows and changes. All life is change. If we stop changing, we stagnate.

I was thinking about Terminator. And Kindle Kitten... Specifically about Vancouver Island... it's 'name' and the images that evokes to those who don't really know... Before I began expanding my boundaries, there were two places that excited my imagination. Saginaw, Michigan and Vancouver Island.

In my mind, both were fur trading posts complete with walls of sharpened logs, Indians camped outside the walls, and buck-skinned trappers with fur-ladened mules entering the fort... Canoes pulled up on the banks of Vancouver Island... That's what I saw in the old movies, and I had no reason to change those impressions... until I began riding motorcycles around the country. Bummer... Saginaw is a factory town, with smokestacks belching out smog blotting out the sun for miles around, and Vancouver Island is BIG! I mean really really BIG! With modern cities and sky scrappers, buses and pizza places. I didn't see a singer fur trapper or his mule! Reality is a bitch.

I'm gonna have another mug of tea and hit the road!

well I'm not in either place (very close to Vancouver Island though) the funny thing is that I Do participate in Mountain Man Rendezvous' all the time and see people dressed like that quite frequently

you wouldn't believe how much time I spend each holiday trying to convince people that it is NOT indeed me. but, it's become something of a tradition so I blunder on

they are becoming more and more popular. if you can't find one advertised in your area, but have dog parks, go there. dog park people tend to be pretty connected with doggie services

No dog park. Extremely small on the "city" scale... fairly large on the town scale so not much here. I'll fish in Google.

Lung Ching Dragonwell. My Hot Shot is heating the water to only 68.3C/155F, if the thermometer is correct. I'll give the microwave a try, since I'd rather not return to the days of a tea kettle on the stove.

I see them at Rendezvous too, but I really was expecting to see Saginaw looking like Rendevous, with a stockade fort! I figured Vancouver for wilderness...

Nooooooooo! Don't do it! Microwaves and tea water don't mix! The flavor will be so incredibly flat! If you drink a lot of hot water beverages, why not get one of these? Almost every home and business has one here in Japan, and frankly, I don't see how I ever got along before I had one myself! We use the 4 liter size. It heats the water to what ever temp you want, and keeps it that way all day. When you want hot water, you just push the button and an electric pump delivers it into your cup.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll look into those appliances. They look convenient. I don't understand how heating water in a microwave can make a difference, though. When you pull the water from the microwave, it's still just water. (I'd heat the water in a Pyrex measuring cup and pour it over my tea leaves, which sit in a filter/infuser similar to the one Charlie posted a couple of weeks ago.) I'm not saying I don't belive you, just that I don't understand what could cause a difference.

Well, I'm off to dream land, earlier than usual. Water in the cup. See you tomorrow.
