I'll take a contrary view to that His email indicated they had plenty of cybook, but were waiting on the covers. That would seem to point directly to the leather cover as being the issue.

I myself was wondering what "covers" meant. I agree it must mean something seperate.

If I were Naeb I would tell them to send the devices sans covers and follow up with the covers... giving NAEB some discount for this since they will have to do a seperate shipment to customers of the back orders covers.

Isn't this what most retailers do, ship all but what is back orders.

Now, if they are talking about the plastic cases of the device, then how could they "have plenty of Cybooks"?

That's exactly what Bookeen themselves do if you order from them directly.

The holdup IS because of the lack of the (simulated leather) covers but the email mentioned the 'new improved cover' which I believe refers to the new housing.

The cover itself (into which the device is placed or removed according to user need) has not changed.

He was using the noun 'case' to mean two entirely different things.

Confussion reigns....

If I understand what you are saying.....I did not receive the newer Cybook model when I received mine through NAEB in early May.

Is someone holding out on me/us?

I got mine, Jeff, in the same (2nd) shipment as yours and at the same time. We both got the early unit with the 528 build.

My first order was March 27, 2008.
Here's the email :

Order Number: 198
Detailed Invoice: https://naebllcc.ipower.com/osCommer...p?order_id=198
Date Ordered: Thursday 27 March, 2008

Products
------------------------------------------------------
1 x CyBook (Gen3) = $375.00
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $375.00
United Parcel Service (1 x 2lbs) (Ground): $9.99
Total: $384.99

I really don't think anyone got the new unit until it came out around 12-15 days ago.

The last NAEB order was closed & shipped well before the newer Cybook was released....or even made public.

Yea, I realize that the last NAEB order just missed the new units by a couple of days. At least I think that's what happened.

.....that's why the "smiley" in my posting.

FYI

I haven't seen this, regarding the 3rd order mentioned anywhere, so I thought I'd post it here:

Bookeen has notified us that NAEB's shipment should reach us between June 9th-12th. We are sending out the credit authorization expired notices today. If you are affected it will be reflected in your order status. If you have any questions please email shop@naebllc.com

Countdown begins, those sitting on the fence might want to think about getting their order in, as of now, the website is listing 59 orders so far (barring duplicates and cancellations) out of the 60 they are expecting to receive from Bookeen.

As James has mentioned earlier, those orders may contain testing ones, so I am not pretty sure if this number is correct or not.

By the way, I would like to say NAEB's email response is really good.

Thanks & Regards,
David

NAEB's web host is down, so if you trying to visit any of our sites you will not be able to get to them.

Just notice that the current order count on NAEB's store has hit 60. Congratulation!

Now I can't wait.

I ordered back in April and am hoping the machines have arrived. I had expected a note either on naeb's website or by email by today, the 12th. I realize you seldom have any control over the time it takes to receive items... but I'm very anxious to finally receive my purchase.

I have sent a mail to NAEB yesterday and hopefully to hear from them soon.

If I got any replies, I will post it here.

Thanks & Regards,
