He is correct as the latest official firmware is 2.0.6.
Firmware 2.1.2 is still beta and not the official firmware for pb903. If you buy a pb903 you will not get fw 2.1.2 already installed. That way PB903 still has no annotation for PDF. Sure, it's coming with the next firmware (2.1.2 rc6 is still out) but it's not yet official.

that firmware introduced only a couple of days ago? Isn't it still beta?
Many people have been waiting for it. Certainly will take care of some of the frustrations ...

Hi Beryll, no, the 2.1.1 (already with annotation capabilities) was released in mid June; the first public release (RC3) of the 2.1.2 was instead in mid november, with the latest beta (RC6) released ten days ago - in practice, free-hand annotation has been available since mid June, though I have to say the current release is much better (faster responding). As far as I could make out from the Ukranian forum, there is also a faster drive being tested, but they are now finalising the 2.1.2 firware witout it, to include the faster drive in the next firmware version (after the 2.1.2). HOwever, annotation is only available for EPUB and pdf, not for DJVU files.

They (PB representative on the Ukranian forum) say that the new 2.1.2 version will be releasedon Dec 15th.

What do you mean by "faster drive" in this context? Or maybe there is an Ukranian dolmetscher in the house to explain this?

I think it should be "faster driver", meaning the fastupdate screen driver. Supposedly it, well, makes the screen update faster - but I haven't noticed that much of a difference, to be honest. Maybe I wasn't looking at the right spot?

Interesting, my PB 903 that I got at the beginning of December has firmware
2.05 installed.
They should not only release firmware improvements but also install them ...
