There's also the problem that while not all rectangles are squares, all squares are rectangles. It is impossible for a square display to not be rectangular at all.

In so far that all companies want to 'brainwash' consumers, yes.

They market their products exceptionally well but, if the products didn't perform, they wouldn't be as successful as they are.
