				Just bought a moleskine

Don't know why. Inspired by my friends here, I guess. I used to carry around a similar sized notebook and put little bon mots I found and then compare notes with a friend who did the same. Reading the scribbling thread, I felt drawn to the bookstore to get one today. Page one is headed: Random thots of a cluttered mind. I wish I could draw like Adrian etc. |

Excellent, pshrynk! My first suggestion is to immediately go ahead and junk up a few pages. Go ahead and do it now. Spend just a few minutes, grab a pen (or better yet, a few pens, pencils, markers and whatnot) and write stuff down that comes into your head, draw a picture of Adrian's curvy butts, write some really bad squirrel-koo, whatever. The idea is to (1) get it started, and more importantly (2) avoid that fear of somehow ruining this perfect, beautiful little book by actually writing something in it. Once you've done that, return to it tonight or tomorrow and do it again, although you don't have to be so aggressive about it then.

By the way, please always remember and don't ever forget: There are a few rules to using notebooks like this. First, there are no rules (unless it's a ruled one. hah! get it? unless it's a ruled one. what a kill!) Second, fear not the blank page nor the junk you may have written in the past. Third, no tearing or crossing out pages - definitely not allowed. Fourth, and most important of all, there are no rules. There, you now have the benefit of it my great wisdom thrust upon your brow. You may now go forth and mole.

I bought a notebook too. Only I'm too cheap to buy a moleskin(e). Mine cost all of $1 and has wide bright neon colored stripes on the front. So far I've only been brave enough to write "chronophage -- time consumption or consumer". |
