With regarding to PDF annotation, I wonder if Mantano could have some difficulties implementing a better interface due to its use of Adobe's Reader Mobile...? Cause Adobe Desktop Editions also has no PDF annotation support whatsoever.
Would be nice if a Mantano staff can drop by and explain a little bit. FWIW, ezPDF seems to be using xPDF (http://www.glyphandcog.com/Xpdf.html). Not sure what RepliGo uses. |

...or (for when you're home,) just use the content server like I do. ![]() I personally find either method to be so much faster than dealing with the dropbox app. Last edited by Eskarina; 12-04-2011 at 10:50 PM. |

I don't leave my PC running when I am not at my desk so Dropbox works great for me. I keep my entire library on there and email a book using my email app to my Kindle or download the book to my Tablet for Mantano using Dropbox and ES File Explorer. If you just used the other method you can't use plugboards or rename the file automatically like Save to Disk or Send to Device does. I like my series info in the file name. You could skip ES File Explorer all together by setting Mantano to synch with your Dropbox Folder on your device if you wanted to. That way you just download the book then hit synch button in Mantano. I keep all my epubs in one folder. I like my devices to stay organized and tidy. ![]() |

![]() Ahhh...gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. I'm always fascinated by how people do their reading/organize their libraries etc...I knew you were a denizen here and couldn't square it in my mind why you were doing things in such a seemingly roundabout way when there was an OBVIOUSLY much more straightforward way to get books into your device. ![]() I had the same problem with calibre2opds that you had with slow updating/uploading changes to your catalog. That's why I prefer to get my books via the content server since my laptop is rarely ever turned off when I'm home. Calibre2opds/dropbox combo is a nice back-up access to my books for when I'm not home. I tried things your way but didn't like the dropbox app because I was never able to figure out how to download a complete folder or multiple files from it (I find dropbox so much better when I use my web browser). Actually, dissatisfaction with the dropbox app is what finally drove me into figuring out how to use Calibre's content server. Now with wifi file explorer app and my Calibre library set up as a shared folder, transferring content between my nook color and my laptop via usb is soooo totally like, 3 months ago. ![]() As I learn about new things such as how to use the content server, calibre2opds, and more recently, the kindle collections plugin for calibre, (woohoo!) I forget that I'm still quite the newbie to ereading compared to the vast majority of others on this board. That's one of the many reasons why I love mobileread - y'all's willingness to explain things to me! Thanks again! ![]() |

You can also use the LAN feature on ES File Explorer to access folders on your PC. I like it better than WiFi Explorer Pro which I also have. I have a Kindle Fire but I use Mantano on it. I don't care for the Kindle app. Mantano is where it is at! ![]() I upload all my epubs and mobi files onto dropbox in different folders. They are named like this. Author - [Series 01] - Title.epub I use Calibre to do this so any book I save to disk it automatically names it for me. |

![]() Also, I could have sworn that an earlier iteration of the android kindle app had more features. Wasn't there a time when you could lock orientation and turn off/on page turn animations? ![]() Now I'm all curious. I've had my nook color since February and got a kindle 4 last week. Since I can't fathom ever using kindle for android to actually read, I'm wondering how people that own a kindle and another ereading device handle reading, transferring books, managing their library across both devices. Is there a thread about this already? Hmm...if not, maybe someone should start one. |

![]() The Android App for Kindle is not the same on the Kindle Fire. It's much nicer with different font choices and more options. One thing it lacks that the Kindle For Android has is a brightness slider bar. That's the only thing that keeps me from using it more. Quote:
![]() Me, I have my books in both epub and Mobi thanks to Calibre. I Read on my K4 mobi and on my Kindle Fire epub. I have a note app I use to mark the place I last read. I can search in Mantano the phrase and It takes me right there. ![]() Last edited by Blossom; 12-05-2011 at 06:12 AM. |

![]() I find I'm rather spoiled with the glutton of 3rd party ereading apps that let you adjust brightness by sliding on the left edge of the screen and simply cannot fathom why the majors don't adopt this. ![]() Quote:

Cool Reader is the only one does use a full font family. See my First eInk reader used Cool Reader so I am very familiar with the program and how it works. ![]() Quote:
