If it were feasible to rename the generically coined 'ereaders' 'ebook readers' and whatever, I'd go for the name Book Processor

I was thinking about this problem again today, as I was reminded that a "reader" can also mean a collection of "readings." With that in mind, I'm back to thinking "reader" (lower case) is probably the best term. (Though I confess I do like liseuse.)

There is also the reader, the person, whose name I have now started calling 'reading person' and 'readership'. That is annoying.

I just coined "e-editions" in my complaint letter to TOR about inavailablity of subsequent volumes of the free dowloads they gave us.

Isn't enough just to use e-Reader for devices and e-Paper for those similar-paper electronics sheets?... ;-)
I think using just those two names will make less complicated life... ;-)

That's confusing because ereader is also a format.

Books are Books. They come in various formats, including a confusing array of electronic formats. There are various software programs and devices for displaying those electronic formats. That whole mess is nicely contained in the multiple-purpose and variously punctuated term "ebook". I think we can use that term and rely on context to clarify meaning.

I read books on my ebook. The books are ebook versions. I buy them from an ebook vendor.

Naw, it was coming from my work email, so I was trying to be professional. And I'm trying to start a large-font trend because of losing my eyesight, so my letter was in 18 font.

Since some one amongst us suggests that format changes should not necessarily prompt new terms for existing things, perhaps we should call them scrolls or maybe tablets, whether they are in digital, paper, or other form. Or maybe "scratchings in dirt". Hey, did you see that Amazon now has over 120,000 scratchings in dirt available for the Kindle?
