Hello,

I am prashant from India.

I am interested in purchasing an cybook reader, what I wanted to know is

1. that you guys only have the deluxe version or I can choose the other standard version (without the goodies)

2. it's the newest 1.1 (confirmed yes)

3. Delievery to India ? how much would that cost me, on cybook it shows me 40 euros , do you guys do delivery too ?

thanx

Hi Prashant,

I ordered a Cybook two days ago and was having the same questions like yours.

OK, here is what I realized recently.

1. You have to accept the NAEB's special package which has no extra battery and the SD card is 1G instead of 2G. And I think this is the only one choice.

2. According to the NAEB's website, from the 3rd batch on, it will be the new one, so the answer is YES.

3. Sorry but I don't live in India so I don't know what exact the price to ship there. However NAEB does shipping internationally.

I am a newbie here (well, I am usually reading rather than posting), so please correct me if I am wrong.

Regards & Thanks
David

I am glad to hear that. You can simply go to NAEB's website, register an account and order it from there.

And the good news is that the 3rd batch is going to be committed very soon.

Thanks & Regards,
David

Excat? That's a new one to me. Is that like a postal code or does it have to do with duties and taxes???

You know... I never thought of that. Must be because I'm still suffering gastroinestinal discomfort from the "bad" brussels sprouts I ate last night.

Hey there,
When I ordered the "Current Order Count" updated to 38 and I noted the hold on my credit card...

<<<so when can I expect arrival>>>

Keeping in mind that I and a cheapskate and chose ground delivery. Are you ordering a batch from France that you will then parcel out when they arrive? Or did you send out the 40 units so far ordered? I'm starting to get that sick in the stomach, "Aaaaaan-ti-ci-pation is making me wait" felling and am checking my mailbox everytime I walk by (which is getting to be more and more often)

HarryT, did you get yours from NAEB or direct from Bookeen?

Hi TantricWarrior,

When I ordered my Cybook from NAEB, the order count was already 40. However, Derek said the actual order count was around 37~38. Besides, Jim also said that there are some cancellations or dummy ones among these orders.

I believe they will send the batch out very soon. I guess.

Thanks & Regards,
David

I just checked my bank and the charge is still listed as "pending" which I guess means it's still a "hold" so, you're right, I guess they've ordered a batch from France, which according to the Bookeen site, should take ~12 days to get to NY and then a few days turnaround to us... I guess I'll stop obsessively checking my front door for any dropped-off packages.

Same here. However, I am not pretty sure if they've sent the batch out to Bookeen yet.

Still waiting...

Thanks & Regards,
David

Harry T may be surprised to know I ordered another Cybook last Friday (maybe he won't be surprised), and back then the count was 40. It's still 40 today and hasn't been updated since May 14.

It's a nifty little gadget and I look forward to the day when Bookeen gets the bugs under control.

Pending means we haven't actually charged your card yet. That would be against the rules of the merchant CC processing firm as we haven't the units in our grubby hands to actually SHIP. The wire transfer paperwork must be completed first - takes time.
