Good god! Has it been that long?

Well hopefully they will sort it soon as it's doing my nut in!

That and the difficulty of unhighlighting a word, half the time I select the highlighted word, I only get the option to highlight it again. I just want to remove the colouring, is that too much to ask?

Remove highlights can be done from the navigation panel.

I've had this problem earlier (too lazy to browse back in this thread). It was at a 1.5.something release already. I was hoping they'd fixed it, but apparently, it's not fixed completely (before, it even lost my collection if I closed the application down!)

Could be device or Android version specific. Make sure when you report it you let them know your device and android version.

Thanks! I didn't know that.

Still, would be nice to be able to tap onto a highlighted word and have the option of removing the highlight from there though.

You can remove a highlight from just tapping on it. Or at least, I can; just tap, the menu pops up and I hit delete on the far right - see my screenshot. Is that what you mean? I'm using the latest version from the market 1.6.4. Maybe you're using a different version?

What I have noticed is that the selection handles can jump around quite a bit while selecting words to highlight.

And if that came up every time then I'd not have a problem, but instead I mostly get the selection you get when you tap on an un-highlighted word. You don't get a delete option then.

The menu choices you list rarely shows, that's the issue I have with it.

And yes I do check the selection handles to make sure they are only selecting the highlighted word.

Ahh...I see what you mean. I remember the highlighting features being much more quirky (for me) a couple of months back before the recent flurry of updates. Now, although it's still quirky, it works much better and for some weird reason the handles are better behaved if I use the default theme rather than my own user-defined.

Here's how it works on my nook color:

Un-highlighted words
Tap - Reader toolbar
Long press - annotation options

Highlighted words
Tap - annotation options (+color and delete options)
Long press - annotation options (no delete option)

The above works consistently for me. But I guess each device has its quirks.

However, you're absolutely right that using the navigation page is the most consistent way to delete a highlight. I like using that especially if I accidentally highlight a word or two within an already highlighted section.

So I added a book to the library (haven't had to do that in a while...with the file name of "Jack Daniels 08-Stirred" I expected it to be put in the right place with all the other books in the series, but it was put with the "S" books rather than the "J" books.

Does it not sort the titles by the filename title anymore?

It sorts by book title, not by filename. We might add an option to toggle this behaviour. You can use the series filter to view all books in the same series.

On a side note, we're currently working on the disappearing subcollections bug (as well as new features ).

If it sorted by Title and not by file name, my other books wouldn't sort like this.

This is what I've got, I would think it would sort by "Jack Daniels" like my other books.
