I am going to bed...

...well, I'd stay up later with you lot, but one of my dogs seems to be unwell...not bad unwell, but enough that I have to lie in bed with her worrying myself silly and making sure that her every movement and breath is not a sign of distress. (Ask vivaldirules - he'll understand and explain if necessary). Incidentally, this is her:

i hope your dog feels better. my idiot cat once fell out the window (of the 4th floor... and that's *5th* floor, to those of you who count the ground floor as "1") into the paved courtyard. after a rather panicked trip to the vet (who really had her hands full with us, since as soon as she began to examine the cat and i could stop running around like a chicken without a head, i fainted from the stress of it all... but that's another story) i set her up on a little cushion on the floor (so she wouldn't have to jump) and stayed up far too late watching her just in case. i know how it goes. i hope you sleep well anyway...

(the cat, by the way, was fine, since i know that is the burning question uppermost in everyone's thoughts here. in fact i think of the two of us i was the more traumatised by the whole experience, and probably could have used a morphine shot from the vet as well. no such luck though. i hope this turns out to be a similarly benign incident for your dog...)

I think she may look familiar because we've seen her (or a sibling) in Marc's avatar a bit ago. She's lovely! I hope she continues to improve. It *is* hard when they get old. One of my shih tzu's is 16 -- very feisty still, but also has a cancer, so we watch every breath to see if there will be another. Sigh.

I keep telling myself "at least they don't require college tuition. or weddings". But they're my babies nonetheless.

Hugggggs for Marc's baby.
