Hi. I'm completely new to this. I'm one of the many people in europe that purchased a sony digital reader before I realised I couldn't buy books for it. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who could get hold of vouchers for the Sony ebooks website as I don't seem to have much success in converting .lit to .lrf. I have an excuse: I'm a 60yr old grandmother. Thanks.

Hi Maggiet and welcome to the Forum. Good to have another senior citizen in the group.

Used to live in Beds back in the 70's long before ebooks were dreamed of.

Be sure and let us know how you do getting books for the Sony

If you send a PM to "Leaping Gnome" he will buy gif vouchers for the Sony Store for you in return for payment by PayPal.

So you're still a spring chicken... so that's not excuse. Converting LIT to LRF is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Of course you need to download convertLIT and calibre. Install the later. Read the convertLIT readme and also run it for more directions. If you need help feel free to PM me.

Of course you can get LRF's from Fictionwise... if you just stick to the Multi-format books.

Thanks everyone. Actually after 10hrs of backbreaking keyboard work and brain strain I finally managed to convert .lit to .lrf using convertlit and calibre. When I'd done it once it was so easy. I can't believe it took so long. Old age!!!!! By the way Cassidym I live in Yorkshire.

Good pudding too. The only thing I remember about Tampa is Busch Gardens. Good it was too. Anybody know how to convert .pdb to .lrf now? My palm is going in the attic and I still have books I haven't read yet. Now I can put books onto my PRS there'll be no stopping me.

Welcome to the forum, Maggiet.
Do have a look at our Book upload section. There's a lot of free public domain works, converted by forum members, ready formatted in LRF.

If you have calibre, which I assume you do, because you converted a lit... it is the way to go. If there is a file format that can be converted to LRF it will do it. Just try to add your .pdb file to calibre, then press the convert button.

If it doesn't work let us know... perhaps Kovid hasn't gotten to it yet, or someone else smarter than I will be able to answer this.
