There actually were some lights on the horizon this morning, but sadly, the world has disappeared again...

We're having wonderful weather. We have flood statements, flood warnings, flash flood watches, avalanche warnings, winter storm watches, and it's been pouring rain. I'm sure glad I won't be going out in this mess for Black Friday |

Still unnaturally warm - woken up at 3:30 am by pounding rain - but no storms - gusty today & tomorrow - should bring all the leaves down.

Freezing rain last night. My most hated form of precipitation. Had to chip 3 to 4mm of ice off the car. One of our Christmas decorations is an inflatable Santa and it was so coated that it was still standing upright with the power off. Only fun part was walking the dog at 5 am. He had great traction (claws and four wheel drive) and I just slid along behind him.

So today it is sunny out with the temperatures on the way up to a predicted high of 40 F. I suspect that before the day is over that all the snow that fell over the weekend, except in areas of all-day shade, will be gone.

We've had our Thanksgiving already too! Canadian tradition is to put the Christmas Decorations up during what you think will be the last good weekend in November, weatherwise. That way your neighbors won't make fun of you while you're chopping icicles of the eaves to put up the lights. If you guess wrong and do it too early, the neighbors call you a wuss. |
