Hard Case to fit the PRS-650

I carry quite a bit of stuff in my bag and I am paranoid since I broke my last 650's screen while in a Case Logic EVA case. I have an Otterbox case for my iPad and a Griffin Survivor case for my iPhone (both purchased at mega discounts). I am looking for a similar type of rigid case to protect my 650.

I know that some of the Kindle Touch cases will fit the 650 as the Kindle Touch is only 4 mm longer and .5 mm wider than the Sony.

Has anybody seen such a case? I have already checked the sites for Otterbox, Griffin, and Rhinoskin, who made awesome aluminum PDA cases.

Well, I just saw on Amazon that BookArmor makes a case for the 650 now. It isn't an Otterbox but it looks to be better than the Case Logic EVA case.

Anybody have experience with their product and can tell me if it is worth the $30.

Thanks for the recommendation but their "hard case" is an EVA case like the Case Logic I have that my first 650 was in when the screen was broken. The EVA cases are stiff but not actually hard. They can allow some flex that will transfer to the screen.

So far, the BookArmor is in the lead as it actually has aluminum plates in both sides of the cover. My big concern is the weight. Then again, I think the Otterbox for the iPad doubles the weight on that device, so maybe I should just suck it up and get it. Like everyone, I just keep hoping for something better.

I have the previous model (Delta series) of the BookArmor case for the PRS-950. It is similar to the current one except for the way the reader is attached to the case. In terms of durability and protection for your unit -- it is just GREAT and worth every cent to protect the sensitive screen. Some people may find that it is, unfortunately, a little heavy -- but is worth the tradeoff to protect your big $$$ investment.

Thanks! I put it on my wishlist to either pick up when I have some extra cash or as a holiday present next month. I just need to stay extra careful with it until then.

I actually got a great deal on the Verso Prologue cover from Lightwedge (I had $25 in Best Buy reward certificates and it is on sale for $30 right now). It is very rigid and looks like an old leather bound book. The elastic straps hold the device in quite securely. it was marketed as being for the Kindle Touch but in fine print, it said it also fits the Sony Touch, Nook STR, and Kobo Touch. At this point, I think all of the Touch devices are pretty much the same size so that should give people a lot more variety.

I saw one in Best Buy this week. Very classic looking...Did you get red or brown?

I got the red. I would have preferred the brown but the red is quite nice. I added a couple neodymium magnets to the pocket to match up to the ones in the device so it keeps itself closed.
