Sorry, this might become a bit tricky. Try it like this: open setup.exe, and when you get the error, keep the error window open! Then open Internet Explorer, press Ctrl+O, and enter the entire path from the error window. So for example (you can add the quotes to be sure):

Code:

"C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Temp\7zSB00F.tmp\Fuluasha.hta"

The path will be slightly different, but hopefully Internet Explorer will still know how to handle the file (choose 'open' if it gives you a choice between opening and saving it). And if it does work, don't close the error window until the entire setup is finished.

The Sony Reader PRS-950 is drive I .....
I changed the USB port but I get the same message ....

Edit: I tried it a 2nd time with your trick ... but I got the same message again: "Sony Reader PRS-950 cannot be found" but the reader is there ......

Are you sure you have the correct firmware version installed?

950 would be detected regardless of the firmware.
This error is most likely caused by missing VS2008 redistributable (I think I've included the hint into installer, unfortunately it's a bit tricky to detect it programmatically, I actually try to, but obviously it fails)

So, to install 2.0.15, do we uninstall the previous version (I have 2.0.14 on both 350 and 950) or just install over it?

You're quite welcome. Uninstalling nor installing on top is necessary to upgrade. The download file contains a separate archive "update.zip". Extract the contents of this zip to the root of the device (after which you will see a folder called PRSPInstaller on the reader). Then (safely) disconnect and fully shutdown the reader. On the next start, it'll have the new version.

2.0.15. is out of Beta. It's in Release Candidate state, and that is one step "above" Beta.
