It's a little above freezing and snowing steadily. It's not a meteorological phenomenon but it effects me. It's the opening day of deer hunting season here and it seems like the town population doubled over the last 48 hours. The few cafes in in town were jammed at breakfast as were the local supermarket and other stores.

Pleasantly cool sunshiny afternoon here. Great for reading in the gazebo on the deck.

My run yesterday was rather on the chilly side, but it was already up to 44 when I left for the office at 5:40 this morning.

I think how different the rain can be. If you are snug in a bed next to a fire or walking home from a car that has broken down. The rain can mean very different things. Today I was on the front verandah reading when the pings of new rain caught my attention. The lizards scurried to hide and a dragon fly found a suitable landing spot on the agapanthus new flower shoots. The frogs started their squawking which have been absent throughout the previous few year's drought and as I looked up from the iPad the new rain was pleasant and I smiled knowing I need not water the garden this evening. |

Around my local worrying about leaves is so last month. It is still cold here and partly sunny. At least 4-5 inches of snow must have fallen yesterday and last night. Everything looks beautiful blanketed in a fresh fluffy white coating. But so it begins. A bit of long cold winter humor . . . Quote:

^Sounds like my previous home. Newfoundland. Currently, -17C, -27 with the windchill, but the temperature is rising fast it was -24C just six hours ago. Apparently, it will be up to -4C this afternoon. 3C tomorrow and 6C on Wednesday. I'll believe that when I see it. |

It was very, very foggy this morning during my walk. Also warm, though, so it was really enjoyable!
