Mine was like this -- 25 years ago or more. (Gack!!) In fact, the someone who drove me home, hijacked me for a day and put me to sleep on her guest bed. Which was just as well, cause I slept for another 4-5 hours.

I'm waiting for the text from my eldest to say she is ready to be collected from drama rehearsals. 10pm estimated finish time, and I have a glass of red wine dripping with cool condensation (I like my red chilled) calling me...

(I don't speak from experience, since all 4 of my wisdom teeth were very nice. I felt a bit itchy, and that was all. But still, believe me, things would go well )

Sorry for the vague reply earlier. I just didn't know what to type and that was truly what I was (and still am) doing.

The personnel manager position where I work has suddenly become vacant. As most of you know, I'm ten months out from earning my Bachelor's in Human Resources. So I sent in a resume and cover letter, about half expecting that to be the end of it. I truly figured they would take one look at the incomplete degree and no experience in HR and toss the resume in the bin. Two days later, I received a call for an interview to be held Nov. 29th at the Sterling, IL store. (Sterling is the next town over). The position covers four stores: mine, Sterling, Rock Falls and Byron.
I've now been told that the position was never advertised externally. At most, I'm competing against three or four other applicants. I've no idea who might have applied from the other stores, but I really don't think it could be too many people.
IF by some miracle I do get the job, though, I would have to train in Quincy, IL (corporate HQ) which is about 3 or 4 hours south, and at this point, I don't know for how long. An educated guess has me thinking a couple of weeks. This might be a small problem, as Chris and I have never spent a night apart since I moved here.

So yeah... obsessing pretty much sums up my state of mind...

Just made an extra appointment with my dentist. The filling he replaced a couple of days is just a bit too big. During the day I don't notice it (much) but at night, in bed when lying on my right side (which I need to since my left jaw is still painful) it grinds against the lower tooth and in the morning both teeth feel like there's been some pressure on them. So on Tuesday morning I can pop by to have it corrected.

Although my jaw still feels like it's been used for boxing practice the wound itself is healing nicely (although the stitches are annoying). The only problem now is that I'm starting to get a cold, usually I get a throat infection but this time I have to sneeze a lot and if it's a big sneeze the wound hurts a lot but if I try to keep the sneeze "in" it hurts my jaw a lot.

I'm still not looking forward to getting my last wisdom tooth extracted in two weeks time but I'm not as nervous as I was because the procedure itself wasn't painful and relatively easy.

Exactly describes my experience. The nurse said "Bye bye," and then I woke up, in an amazing drug-induced state. Wow, was that an experience.

@phenomshel: Good luck. It'd be nice to hear a happy story in this economy.

On the positive side, think of all the reading you'll get done .

Very best of luck with the job application - my BH is currently applying for a new job, and the process can be pretty stressful.

Saturday morning, reading MR posts on the iPad on the verandah. Lawn mowers howling next door. The neighbour across the road is hammering a steel trailer and the Whipper Snippers are in the distance slapping down the long grass.
The blowies have decided that I might taste good but can't go inside as Tracey's giving a customer a wax and I neglected to ask what kind!

This started off "what are you doing" and ended up a rant

How's the touch screen? Can you compare its sensitivity to that of iPad?

I can't compare it to an iPad because I've had very little time on one of those. The screen feels good to me, though. Pooh, you had an iPad for a while, right? What do you think?

Really, my only gripe with it is that it doesn't have 3G, and of course I knew that before I bought it. And I probably couldn't have afforded it if it had 3G -- I really didn't have the money for it anyway, but I just wanted it BAD.

I didn't know how much I would enjoy seeing the covers of all my books flying by -- I'm so used to just seeing the titles!
