it's just a pity for DX owners, it was a very expensive product, and it really isn't very old. but yes, you're right, it may be a hardware limitation, but I have my doubts when it comes to some features. and while I am somewhat disappointed in my iPhone, I do appreciate that my phone will be good for a couple of years at least. with android I do see that phone models are just updated all over the place and old models get abandoned within a matter of months.

I own a DXG.
Do I wish they'd update the firmware? Of course I do! Having said that, my DX works pretty well for my needs. Would I like it to work better? Of course, but I'm not going to sit around and complain about the fact that it doesn't |

And both are just as expensive, everyone blames the size of the display for the cost.

I have not updated my DXG to the latest firmware revision Amazon offers, since it entails risk. The exp. web browser, for example, may change behavior in a way I wish it had not. The Location bar and screen layout may have redacted elements.
I am posting this msg *from* a DXG on their dime (via 3G). Amazon, I think, has pioneer'd an overall concept with their various devices and services. They are arguably a market leader. I bought the DXG expecting to get four years use. I think that is probable. I like my KSO but I mostly use the DXG. AFAICT the KSO can not post to mobileread.mobi as I do on DXG ... albeit slowly. |

My biggest problem with my DXG is that I wish I could have the sans serif font on it like is on my K3. My lousy vision needs all the help it can get, and that font makes the K3 so much easier for me to read than the DXG that I literally haven't read anything on it since the day I got my K3 about six weeks ago.
It's a shame, because i love the bigger form of the DXG (and I have a beautiful Noreve case for it, too)! |

On the stock DXG all one has to do is increase the font size (and/or use better reading lamps) to get a similar effect imho. As far as the lack of personal docs (or better pdf handling) go on my DXG, I could not care less, lol! Cheers, Tom |
