I think it's fair to say it's not a visual puzzle, in that it's not something like 'number of closed loops in the letters making up the word'.

It's also not a maths problem, in that I'm not asking you to find a function such that f(4)=5, etc.

Even though it's not a visual puzzle as such, it is possible that looking at the question might help.

That was tricky.

It isn't visual per se, but writing things out definitely helped me see the trick.

Goodness me. If I wasn't such a level-headed mouse, that insult would be grounds for a duel!

It would be possible for someone to get the answer only by hearing the question and without writing anything down. I think that means it's not a visual puzzle.
