It's the first day of the rest of my life!
![]() Actually, just another Monday, but the sun is bright, the sky a vivid blue with little white puffy clouds, and the leaf color is just spectacular. Being a weekday, the areas that have the best combination of trees and ancient shrines and temples will be MUCH less crowded, so I usually prefer to shoot during the week rather than on the weekends. I'm not a real big fan of turkey. I can eat it hot one day, and eat good turkey soup another day or two, but that fixes me for the rest of the year. Once, at a wake, the women cooked up three 35lb turkeys in wood ovens and I was fortunate to get a drumstick. I felt like Louis XIV gnawing away on this thing that was the size of a bowling pin, and loved the experience. It was a shame that it took a wake to give me my best turkey experience. ... and red leaves don't shoot back! ![]() Stitchawl |

I just disappointed my father by reminding him I won't be working on Wednesday because of my dentist's appointment. He expected I could start a bit later but still work. Considering a wisdom tooth is going to be extracted, which means an anaesthetic that'll take hours to wear off, I don't think I'll be in the mood to help customers that day.
I'm already nervous because with my previous dentist it went wrong when he pulled a wisdom tooth. I'm least looking forward to the anaesthetic, the injection into the jaw muscle isn't fun and the last time it felt like I was punched in the jaw for several days afterwards. Luckily after Wednesday I just have to go back one more time to get my other wisdom tooth pulled and some fillings replaced, hopefully that'll be it for a while. |

They put me "out" all the way when my wisdom teeth were removed. All at once. So yes, it took a day of recovering!

My top two wisdom teeth have been removed years ago by my old dentist. The right one wasn't a problem and it didn't hurt much afterwards. When pulling the left one the anaesthetic wasn't working, my dentist didn't believe me when after the second injection I told him so, so that was pulled without pain relief. I was sick for two days after that. My new dentist told me he can pull them but, considering what had happened, he offered to refer me to a specialist to have it done under general anaesthetic. I chose to have it done by my dentist since the first wisdom tooth didn't cause any problems and he promised me that if the anaesthetic isn't working we'll make a new appointment and he'll try to anaesthetise it a different way. But even though I know it will all go all right I'm still nervous and I wish I could read during the procedure to distract me. My plan for Wednesday is that after I get home I'll curl up in bed with my ereader and my notebook with season 3 of Fringe. |

Just finished Portal 2. What a great game, with a fantastic sense of humour, fiendish puzzles and a whole lot of fun helped in no small measure by Stephen Merchant as the voice of the idiot robot.
