IF you call buying them in the old Record style...then Bata tapes...then VHS tapes ....then DVDs! At that point I Refues to buy them Again!
A friend used his equ to put them on my computer & then I stored them on the EX-HD! Friends give me their Digital Copies of movies also. ALL of my COPIES movies have the Word COPY in bold all thru the movie..... Since they are for my viewing pleasure!

Most I think are MP4 AIV & Not sure what the Digital copies are. Fire doesnt have enough storage space for more than a couple at a time. And the 5 gig they offer free well IF your lucky will only hold 3 movies!! Streeming them thru my computer to TV sucks! Get movie but the computer does the sound.....then of course I cant play on the internet when I watch movies.

The Tablet works a lot better All Sound & pic goes to TV! & I can play on the computer

Your Right! Know one Knows what the Fire Can & Cant do in Real life! Look at what happened the the HP Tablet! Came & went so quick made my head swim!! Yes I Really Really wanted one UGH

That's because the OP is not reading each reply correctly. I was only trying to correct the statement that the Fire would only support Amazon content only as I have stated in previous posts this has been confirmed through the recent press release by Amazon not to be the case. The Fire will support other content and formats. Which ones yet will do not know but 3rd party apps are allowed.

The OP seems to be misreading replies and it's all about watching movies somehow. Truthfully I got confused when I was pointed to a thread to read on renting movies and mention in my reply to her that yes it has been confirmed we can rent Amazon Instant Videos through the Kindle Fire.

My intent was only to correct the OP's false information not to push the Fire on anyone or argue with them over movies.

I understand the Kindle Fire is not everyone's choice. It's wasn't my first choice and I am not buying it for movies but as a Tablet where I can read and surf the web.

Another false statement was you would not be able surf sites that Amazon doesn't approve which I have not seen any evidence of the case. There are other browsers in the App store one can use. You don't have to use Silk.

I have come to conclusions the OP is not familiar how the Android O/S works and has drawn her own conclusions based on some other type of information.

Perhaps because Amazon has officially said so? Or maybe I could glean it from the 'YOU CAN NOW USE HULU AND NETFLIX APPS' announcement. OFFICIAL announcement. Or maybe I figured it out when an Amazonian VP announced that they are doing nothing to prevent rooting? Or perhaps...

Well. You get the picture. I hope. There's been so many official announcements on this topic that I begin to wonder if some of you ever visit any other sites, watch the news, or listen to others.

When I started this Thread I made Several Statements as to what I was looking for.... Also wanted the Pros/Cons on the FIRE itself PLEASE go read the 1st page!!

Also I ASKED Amazon these Questions Direct. No to this No to that! Cripe I HAVE an eReader Geee Amazon Kindle3 w/ wifi Right under my dogs pic to the Left of your page! Under my nickname also says NON-TECHY Would REALLY Help if you folks Paid Attention to Details Before you type!

If that is the case it's best to move on. Unless I misunderstood she's already stated she has obtain some of her movies through illegally. So this topic can only go down hill from there.

Then you should edit the statement above because it sounds like your friends give you movies that you didn't pay for.

They pay for the movie that includes the Digital Copy & I pay them the Difference UNLESS they give them to me as a gift. BUT they are Paid for by someone Not Stolen.

Blossom can I say YOU Have your Fire in your hand & KNOW 100% it does All you say & more?? I didn think anyone Had them yet! My clock say 13th Release Date 15th Congrats for getting it Before Release! Maybe You could start a thread telling the rest of us ALL about them 1st hand so to speak!! [Sounds Silly dosent it]

*sigh* I only believe what Amazon has officially announced on their press releases. If you don't then you are welcome to your own opinion. I stated what has been said in other threads here and on the press releases. So let everyone else come to their own opinion now.

Just so you know you can't do that with digital copies buy them from your friends. You probably don't know that but it's still not allowed legally. You must be the sole holder of the DVD or Blu-ray to use it but that's getting in a sticky area I don't care to discuss here.

I hope you find a tablet that meets your needs but you definitely going to need one with a SD Slot for all the content.

Amazon movies run around 600MB a piece so you probably put about 6 movies on and still have room for other content on the Fire. so you defiantly need a different tablet. I've gone back and read some of your firsts posts like you asked. The Fire is not for you I'd go with A1 or something like it.

Keep in mind this thread has grown to a general Fire vs Tablet thread so not all posts are directed to the originals ones you posted.
