I have been good, and not bought any e-books for the last 10 days or so. Despite a large chunk of my TBB getting released... I will not be so good next week, though.

Hi my name is Traye and I feel right at home in this here thread.

I daren't look how many books I have in my TBR file. My main reason for getting an ereader was because my dead tree books were taking over the house and my dearly beloved was getting concerned.
I still have a couple of hundred in my dead tree TBR pile that I cannot bear to part with. I took some to a car boot sale and was very sad to see them go.

Having an ereader has made my predicament worse as now I have no space issue. I acquire more than I read because I love looking for books and can spend all afternoon on a Saturday trawling Amazon/W.H.Smiths etc.
Sometimes with a Gin and Tonic.

My addiction is now spilling over to the actual readers. I first got an iRiver Story (RIP fella), followed by a Sony PRS505, Eken M001, iPod touch, Kindle 4 and I am currently looking on Waterstones website at a Bookeen Cybook Opus. Thanks to the kind soul who posted about the low price here I may end up with an ultimatum

My dearly beloved will give me the side eye if I buy another reader, but he buys a ton of video games so thats my argument when the inevitable happens and one is delivered to the house.

I must go now...............Amazon is calling me, along with Waterstones, WHSmiths etc etc ......

Do bear in mind that you can only read one ebook reader at a time. And the CyBook Opus isn't that much smaller than a Kindle 4 (151x108x10 vs 166x114x8.5) and only 20g lighter.

I know, I know. I just like buying gadgets in general really.

I thought it was a good deal for a smaller reader to take in my bag with me wherever I go.
It's not like I need it. I still can't help but want it though.

Remind yourself that better and/or cheaper gadgets will be out next year. And the year after that. 'Make do' with the ereaders you have now, so that you can buy the new technology ones with a clear conscience.

On the other hand, it is an amazingly cheap price, and will make a splendid Xmas present for someone. Umm... I've just ordered one!

(In mitigation, I'll note that my Kindle 2 is on long-term loan to one of my sisters-in law.)

I just made mistake of counting the number of unread e-books I have. I gave up at 110, but I probably have another 40....

Maybe I should make a promise not to buy any new e-books until I have read the ones I already have....

It arrived today, nicely sealed in original packaging. The cover is still to come, however.

But I won't get to play with it for six weeks! Did I mention that it was my Xmas present?
