I'm interested in the Kobo Touch and would appreciate any advice on whether I will be able to access the Kobo store with the device? I thought that I would need 3G. But the ads for the Kobo touch say that ebooks from anywhere!! I'm quite confused at the moment. Please help.

Hi i have Kindle 3. I use calibre to convert epub and other formats into Kindle formats. It works a treat with pdf files also (no need to convert). Calibre can also handle books with other drm and change them to work with my Kindle. I love the Kindle. It has quick page changes with no lag. Some i have tried have a horrible black time lag between page turns that drive me insane. I can read my Kindle outside in direct light with no ill affect to the quality at all.......Hope that helps

PS: I have never had an issue converting Epub to kindle format (mobi) via calibre. the conversion always works perfectly for me. I have Kindle 3 with wifi didnt bother with 3g as i have wireless at home and go to Macca's and use free wifi if i need a book while im out.

I know someone talked about the Nook Touch being reduced to $99 soon.
I found Kobo Touch at Target (USA) for $99.99. Don't know for how long it lasts or if it will be a permanent change.

Everywhere in this sense is a stretch. The Kobo Touch (KT) has WIFI but no 3G so you need a Wifi access point to use the store. I love my KT and couldn't imagine using anything else, but currently Kobo's customer service leaves something to be desired. I'm hopefully the new owners (just bought out by a Japanese e-commerce company) are big enough that they are actually going to get a reasonable number of Customer Service people. I'd highly recommend the KT as long as it's working.
