Don't worry too much. The 2036 impact of Apophis has now been downgraded in probability to about 1 in 250,000.

Although.... there still a fair bit of uncertainty in all this, because the 2029 close approach (about 20,000 miles!) will affect the orbit considerably, and we just don't have enough data about the asteroid itself.

Nah, we'll expand a sub-space window to envelop the asteroid for a second. Once the asteroid is past earth, we let it re-enter normal space-time. We have the technology. I saw them do it on Stargate SG-1.

Asteroid planning gap leaves Earth 'a sitting duck'. They bring up the asteroid causing the dinosaur's extinction theory. Which made me think about the future. In the future, the next generation of civilization that uses fossil fuels will actually be burning the long deceased generations of the current human civilization. What goes around comes around.
