Of course there is. In hugging we go from a deep, all enveloping embrace that can even imply the lifting of the receiver off his/her feet to a very contained hugthing, barely surrounding with the arms and may be some shoulder patting. Then there is the intensity of it, with details that I am sure you can find in appropriate reading material.

Well, my insane tea days are over, at least for the next 9 months. The Oolongs, Black teas, and Green teas are packed away.
I went to see the Doctor yesterday and we are reasonably certain that I am 6 weeks pregnant. I get the results of the blood test back today but all signs point to pregnant. I am going nuts because we are not suppose to tell people until after the first trimester and I just want to tell the world. I have my first sonogram next week. Praying for great results and the news that all is going well. I am 40 so things are statistically a bit more iffy. I am thinking good thoughts (no smoking, moderate drinking, no drugs, good amount of exercise, eat well most of the time) but I will feel less nervous after next week. So for the next 9 months I will be drinking Rooibos and whatever herbals I come across that I like that do not include rosemary. I will drink the other teas vicariously through all of you. And yess, I know how to decaffinate tea but it still leaves a small amount of caffeine and I fall into that catagory of people who is not willing to take even a small risk when it comes to the health of my baby so I will just avoid tea. |

@ProfCrash: I hope and expect health and happiness from this. Though giving up tea seems pretty serious. However, we'll be sure to post our tea adventures so you can have some vicarious brew.
![]() Speaking of which, I had some Earl Grey with Lavender yesterday. Strange. I've pretty much gone completely off "flavoured" or "scented" teas, and hadn't had an Earl Grey in months. This was a good basic black tea mix underneath, but with lavender instead of bergemot. I enjoyed it, but don't think I'll make it a regular in my tea mix. |

Thanks all. We are excited. I'll be a little less nervous after the sonogram. The Hubby is already looking into what type of flooring we want for the Nursery (the dogs recently destroyed the carpeting in that room so it has to be replaced anyway).
We are telling our parents this weekend but then waiting to tell family and friends until the first trimester is up. Or as long as I can stand not telling people.... Pot one of Rooibos Wild Berries and Thyme. |

I figured the red tea, milk, water combo was causing some people to think something was up.

![]() ![]() ![]() Rooibos is the only tea I drink, and it did me no harm (or at least, I drink it when they release on of my arms from the straitjacket ![]() But seriously, take it easy, and I wish you all the best. Is this your first? Nothing in my cup right now. Contemplating a glass of red wine (but I won't mention that to @prof...). |

It is my first pregnancy which is part of the reason I am nervous.
I talked with the Doctors office and they confirmed that I am pregnant and that the hormone levels are right in the area of 5-6 weeks. So all is well so far. Sonogram on Wednesday and hopefully lots of good deep breaths and time to enjoy the good feelings. Also hoping for no morning sickness. |
