Yair! Now she's a proper agent with a badge..

She got all sooky over Mike's death! i was surprised when she said she couldn't take it anymore. Specially as she was fine about her dad leaving her for dead etc.etc.

On another note. Here another reason why I don't miss the NT that much!

Actually, my avatar (Visage-1) was chosen for me by popular vote in a rigged contest. It won by a huge margin over the second place submission. I love it, although I also particularly liked Legalize Shemp and a few others that were submitted.

I still hadn't put my photos from De Keukenhof, my vacation in Wolverhampton and my vacation last week online so I'm uploading the pictures I took at De Keukenhof (flowershow) now.

I just had a call from my mother's doctor about the ct scan she had yesterday. It was a good report -- no subdural bleed, no skull fracture. Yay!

Just got home from the NCSU School of Veterinary Medicine - we take Goldie cat there every year for a full cardiac check up - we had found out (after we adopted her) that she has a congenital heart anomaly - and we got a WONDERFUL report! She remains stable with NO progression in her symptoms! And we were complimented on keeping her weight down - although Stella takes most of the credit for that - Goldie is playing and romping much more now - with Stella and her toys!

So lots of happy faces here!

[I'm still trying to wipe off all that goo they slather on her to do her echocardiogram - never be without Baby Wipes]

More good news. Exercise has not made it worse.

Mr M has passed his annual Vet check and appears OK. Heart good etc etc. He is a bit dopey today after his needles. And he has lost some weight too. Which is supposed to be good. they were a bit worried about his pain with hind end and suggested some pills, but I am reluctant to have him living on anti-inflamatories because i am worried about them killing his kidneys. He seems OK and happy now, but I will be watching for signs of pain like back arching and I will give him drugs if necessary. the vet thinks he may suffer when the weather gets cold.

Goldie is quite slim - only weighs in at 3 kg. We're quite watchful about her weight!

@SS - sounds like Mr. M has arthritis? You're wise to be wary of pain pills - cats can vary widely in how they handle them. Hope he perks up for you and starts moving better.
[You might want to consider getting him a heated bed - so he doesn't get stiff joints while sleeping]

@ Quake come on tell how fat are your porkers? And I need pix!

@ pooh 3kg? What a skinny one! Mr M has come down to 6.07kgs as of yesterday. Stella must be careful not to bat Goldie off her feet!

Mr M may have arthritis. He has hip dysplaysia and has had surgery to put him back together after a double hernia. And this year of course whatever caused him this latest injury. he doesn't seem stiff in the joints too often, but it is warm at the moment. Even in our brrrr cold winter it rarely falls below 10°C, but a heat pad is a great idea if he looks like getting stiff in the cooler weather. Thanks for the tip.

Stella has learned to play nicely with Goldie - when they play tag, Stella will jump over her rather than flatten her. When Stella does grab Goldie, it's a gentle loose bear hug. Goldie has learned to hiss & slap when Stella gets too rough - and Stella will modify her behavior.

Felicity has a cat heating pad that we've tied into the top of her tree. Now that the cooler weather has arrived, she spends most of the day sleeping there. As far as she's concerned, it's the best ten bucks I ever spent!

Right now we're going through the import food Co-op catalog, choosing a turkey for Thanksgiving. Can't buy them in the supermarkets here but we can order a frozen one from the US, at 'almost' US prices. I don't want one that's too big as I only like turkey three times; once as the main dish and twice as turkey soup. I think I eat turkey more for the cranberry sauce and the stuffing than the bird!
