oh dear, since my last post i've bought 9 books at a total of $23....

i just can't help it, one link on amazon leads to another and next thing you know i'm discovering genres that i never knew existed lol.

they'll get read, i've already abandoned my gaming hobby in order to read more. i'm sure i can get by on less sleep

This thread has become more of co-dependency group then a "let's kick the habit" group!

Here's a suggestion: unsubscribe to any blogs like "Free Kindle Books and Tips," and don't visit their websites.

The problem isn't the free books. The problem is that they prompt you to visit the store. Daily. Once you're there, you you see that *other* book. Oh, and that one. Oooh, and that one, too.

Anyway, I followed my own advice, and I'm now buying fewer books.

Isn't 3 a wonderfully expensive number? Plus, it really doesn't help when you're there all day every day and they see just one more book, eraser, pencil, sharpener, bookmark, etc....

To be fair, one of the books was a birthday gift for a classmate, and the bookmarks were a last minute purchase by me for my 3; I bought 2 for each of them.

On the other hand, that purchase and the others like it, did help to buy one copy of almost every book for the school library, so it was all for a good cause.

It has now been 19 days since I last bought an ebook. When I finish reading my current book, I will have removed more books from my TBR list than I've added this year!

But having just finished my first Georgette Heyer novel, I'm officially adding all her books to my wishlist. If they come up on a good special offer, I'm buying them!

Brandon Sanderson's Alloy of Law went on sale today. I couldn't resist. I must say, Mr Sanderson is a particularly nasty dealer. He releases the first six chapters to get you hooked before charging you full price to feed your addiction with the entire book.
