My t1's restarted after a short push on power button (for sleep mode) and then it's stopped at the "Opening book..." screen. I've tried to reset it many times with a paperclip and no result. It still stops at opening book... screen. What can I do now?
PS: I've previously rooted it with instructions from the-ebook-reader blog.

Yes, it is the Gecko cover, didn't like the plastic/cardboard Sony cover and there is room for the stylus too.

you may need to use the sd-card-rescuekit. you can use the package to get back to stock-rom without needing an usb-connection.

Beware when pressing reset nothing visual happens. The processor is reset but since the new state will be "power off" the image stays on screen as it was (the screen doesn't need any active refresh or power to show). When pressing power on the reader will boot and only then you see the image change, at least it should...

I connect the device to my PC but the PC doesn't recognize the reader. How can I use the sd-card-rescuekit then?

The progress status bar in the "opening book..." screen scrolls from the debut and stops at the end. I don't have a camera with me at this time, so I cannot upload a short video, but I will do that asap so that you can see the problem.
I'm in Vietnam, and I have my T1 thanks to a friend from US. So it really hard to me to contacting with Sony after sale services for more info.

This excessive page flipping is very odd. At the risk of tempting fate, I've had my T1 for almost a month and have read on it every day. I've never had this problem (for page turning I use a mixture of touch screen and buttons).

I have had the 'touch screen freeze' problem a couple of times. Also a couple of times I have had that every time I turn a page the T1 thinks I've pressed a word to lookup in the Dictionary/Google/Wiki/etc. That one seemed to clear easy enough if I actually performed a Dictionary lookup, then after pressing the backup button I was back to normal.

I have the touchscreen problem where it flips page after page until I hit the home button, and then the touch screen stops working. I have to reset to restore the touch screen - similar to this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX60B0bjp90

I also have random application freeze errors and occasionally I find the device completely powered off after being left alone for a day.

Nice to see you again here, jackie_w. The problem I had is not a continuous
pages flipping. The T1 was working normally until I pressed the power button to turn it in to sleep mode. Whatever I do, It stops at the "opening book..." screen. It makes me crazy now. I've just received it for 3 days and just read a couple hundred pages.

@vietchovui,

I wish I could help. If you've tried all the various reset procedures suggested by others and Sony Support is not an option, I'm not sure what else there is.

You need to use a card reader to copy the rescue kit to the micro-sd-card.

Could you please be more precise? There are many packages in the mobileread server: restore-set.zip; sdcard-rescue.zip. Which one I can use and how to?

I experienced the "constant page flipping" problem over the weekend. It happened once and shutting the unit down then powering it up returned it to the normal function.
I wonder if I'm starting to experience the T1's problems?

I saw your video on YouTube. Before using all kinds of obscure rescue SD cards, have you tried a factory reset? I know you can't get to the home page, but maybe the procedure also works in the opening book page where the reader is stuck now.
