Surprising how often that High School biology comes in handy.

A silly question, as I'm writing about WWI and I need some light relief:

Sirocco is probably the most famous of all kakapo (New Zealand's nocturnal, flightless parrot). He's featured in a YouTube video that's had > 2 million views, and last week a bit of his regurgitated food sold for several hundred dollars. What was the televised act that led to his particular fame (or infamy)?
