Yikes Stitchawl that would just mess me up for a while. It was creepy enough the day I saw a car and thought "they aren't actually going to stop" and watched it hit another car in the intersection. I completely agree with the stupidity check, but it's just so hard to test. St. John's was the first place I lived where I was honked at to go through a red light.

I never saw his face, but I can tell quite about about him by his choice of equipment...
He was riding a Kawasaki 'Ninja,' one of the 'superbikes' that most US insurers won't insure to anyone under 25 years old. That bike's only purpose in life is to go fast. Nothing else. Certainly not comfortable to ride for more than an hour at a time. The bike had racing tires on it with just enough tread not to constitute racing slicks and be street legal. He had aftermarket exhaust pipes, tuned loud. In other words, a race bike.

He was wearing a full suit of racing leathers, obviously well broken in... BUT... the skid pads on his knees were unscratched. The skid pads on his boots were unscratched... This means he NEVER got up to racing speeds, never actually made a racing turn hanging off the side of his bike. He only wanted to look the part while staying at slower speeds. He was wearing an open face helmet with a dark face shield. NO RACER WOULD EVER WEAR AN OPEN FACE HELMET!

So he revved his engine at stop lights, jerking forward an inch or two each time. He made jackrabbit starts on the green. He was not a cautious rider. He was a wannabe racer, a poseur. I'll guess he was in his late teens or early 20's but I really don't know. All I know is that he paid the ultimate price for his showing off.

I wasn't a show off, but when I was about that age I made some questionable rides in traffic. And bounced of a couple of cars. I reckon it was 50/50 bad car drivers against bad teenager. There but for the grace of god............

Guinness - in its infinite attempts to capture some of the American beer drinking market (whose most consumed beer is Bud Light) has created Guinness Black Lager - it looks like Guinness (dark color), but tastes like ..... Bud! Way bad! Any Guinness fan's taste buds will scream in outrage!

already? you boozer! Are you on that bluddy daylight saving thingo?

Maybe it is later there.

OK real rant.

Why can't I find a simple terms of use from someone else's website that I can copy and paste and edit a bit to fit?

All the simple web sites don't seem to have them I think I want one in our web site even if it is an information only site.

I could write one, but that requires thinking.

My gums hurt!
I had my first appointment with the dental hygienist today and she gave my teeth a good clean buy my gums are now seriously annoyed. She said this will last a couple of days. My teeth do feel nice and clean though. My next appointment is in two months time, I have to take my electrical toothbrush with me so she can check if it's still working okay.

Now I'm off to bed with my Kindle, a cup of tea and some ibuprofen.

I need new friends. My Facebook is boring, and all of the suggested friends are boring as well. How does one go about finding FB friends who are neither high school classmates or related to Tim's family?

You are complaining about the exact same thing that happened to me. Only boring news feeds now. I've given up on it.

Google is your friend, guys. I've been able to track down family member that I didn't even know existed!!

Although a lot of the 'people finder' sites want money, they often give you 'teasers' with names of relatives, several possible past addresses, etc. Using those, together with Google searches of the teaser info, I've connected with the children of my father's first cousins... never even knew they existed... connected with the cousin of my first wife, whom I lost contact with almost 40 years ago, and an assortment of childhood friends.

It's been fun hearing about their lives, and what they've been doing since we last met, but I realized that there was perhaps good reason why we didn't stay in contact all these years. Just not so much in common any longer.

Yes, it was nice catching up, but ever since then, it has been nothing but re-posts of daily devotions and/or cartoons.
