I'm reading the 85th one. With school work this rate, I cannot maintain the same pace as in summer... Hopefully I'll finish the 100th book in time, but not 100% sure so. (And I won't take part in 100 books in 2012... the quota surely affects my pace and choice of books.) |

I am at 89 for now -- with a bit of time around Christmas there shouldn't be any problems.

100 books is unattainable for me, but I have already passed the number I read last year. eP |

I'm reading book #83 right now. I'll be a lot closer this month as I have a week off in a couple of weeks, which might bring me to about 90, give or take.

I haven't updated my online lists for awhile, but I am on my 52nd ebook/dead tree book and I am on my 47th audiobook. I went out of town this weekend and I have a nice 7+ hour drive each way, so I will finish the current audiobook this trip and will get a decent start on the next. Ken |

Not even close. I've just passed 50, though that's a lot more than I thought I'd have read by this point. Guess that's why I didn't officially participate in the challenge! |

Hmmmm, since this year I'm still supreme ruler of the 2011 book reading ..... I think I'll make an exception and let books that you STARTED in 2011 count, Just kidding of course. Maybe next year I'll get around to reading H.G wells, and Mark Twains books that are generally shorter (200p) but most books I read this year are around 800 each. I'll try to work out how many pages I read this year, if anyone wants to join me I'll start a new thread for that. |

No. I mean, if I could sit and do nothing but read books for the next month...I'd make it. But, I don't think I could. I've gotten over half-way there, though. So, I'm pleased enough with it. |

I'm reading book 109 now but I don't know how far I'll get since the busy time of the year is coming up for our store. I've read several short(er) stories but I've also read several 700+ page book so I think I'll average over 200 pages a book. Next year I'm not doing the read X books/pages I'll just note down both pages and number of books to see how much I read in a normal year. This year I feel I read shorter books than I would normally read to make it to 100. |

Also - I'm basing everything on a lower milestone. I'm only at 51 now and I've had a pretty 'readerly' year. So I don't think 100 books is a reasonable basis for my challenge in the first place.

I don't think I'll be taking the challenge next year either, as I have felt pressured this year, trying to rush on through a book rather than savour it, constantly checking my percentage progress.
