Well then it's something to consider again. It's not something I can get right now but it would be nice to have just for the used books I buy. The other benefits are just perks.

Generally the "Fulfilled by Amazon" used books are significantly higher cost-wise than the ones you pay for shipping one, it's always worth looking at/evaluating thought.

I usually pay $2-$3 plus 3.99 shipping for a book. I go for Very Good to Like New and sometimes New if cheap enough. I don't buy penny books they are in rough shape and no one knows what they've been through. On eBay I tried to buy books that have real photos.

I've lucked out a few times when very good was Like new and then there has been times when Very good was more like good condition or worse and those I had to pitch. I've learned reading feedback is good way to find out if the seller is honest or not. It needs to be 98% or more for me to even look at their feedback.

I only read digital books. DTBs are a thing of the past for me.

Not for me because all the great romances are from the late 80s to late 90s and alot of them aren't in ebook form yet. Everything is so cookie cutter these days in that genre that sometimes you can't tell one book from the other. There are exceptions but it getting harder and harder to find them.

My primary genre is classic literature; ie, the public domain stuff. I supplement that with library books. So ebooks made my reading free.

I am starting to look at the Fire.

(chants) Do not pre order a Fire(/chants)

Reminds herself that Christmas is coming and you can get a Fire for Christmas. Then you can read the reviews and know how well it works and if it will do what you want it to do.

Thanks, tubemonkey. I have been looking at Android tablets, and I'm under the impression that not all can stream video from Amazon. Can anyone tell me which Android tablets can do that? What do I need to look for? As I mentioned, the only mobile device listed on Amazon's page as capable of streaming their videos is the Kindle Fire.

For computers, Amazon's computer technical requirements are below. The Android tablets wouldn't meet those specs.

Quote:
Here are the computer system requirements for Amazon Instant Video:
  • Computer Hardware: PCs: Intel Pentium 4 2.33GHz processor or equivalent. Macs: PowerPC G5 1.8GHz or faster or Intel Core Duo 1.33 GHz or faster.
  • Computer Hardware for HD: Most Duo Core 2.00GHz Macs and PCs or faster.
  • Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 or above, Firefox 1.5 or above, or Safari 2.0 or above.
  • Browser Plug-ins: The most recent versions of JavaScript and Adobe Flash Player.
  • Internet Connection: Broadband Internet connection with minimum recommended connection speed of 450 Kbits/sec.
  • Internet Connection for HD: Broadband Internet connection with minimum recommended connection speed of 3,500 Kbits/sec.

Techiegirl, as monkeyluis said, you have to request the Amazon Prime books from your Kindle device. Illustrated instructions are given here.

I'm not seeing "Kindle Owner's Lending Library" under "books" in my kindle. When I do browse books, I see "prime" and I do have a borrow feature.
