My Sony 505 came with a tan leatherette cover with plastic clips to hold the reader in place. When I first came into MobileRead all the Sony folks were complaining that their plastic clips broke in the first couple of weeks, so I planned to make a cover (like the Oberon) when that happened. That was more than two years ago and the stock cover, including the clips, is still going strong.

I did, however, make a travel sleeve to protect the covered reader in my shoulder bag or back pack. I took two foam mini-notebook covers, one made from soft neoprene and the other from orthopedic 'Sorbothane' foam, put one inside the other with a stiff sheet of 'Kydex' (a very rigid thin plastic) between the two. I removed the zippers from one end, and glued shut the bottom and side, leaving the top open to slide the reader in and out. With the covered reader inside, I could drop a brick onto the set-up and not worry about breaking the reader.

I had a good day today at my handspinning demo. I had 5 fourth grade classes come in (separately), and then the special ed class and some ESOL classes. They were all interested and well-behaved, with lots of good questions. Wow, I'm tired tonight though.

I've made quite a few different styles of moccasins, but never regular shoes. Have you seen the YouTube videos of the Italian shoe makers? THAT takes some real skills!

@stitchawl I am getting my order in to you for some hand made shoes so that I may be the envy of everyone. :

@bjones6416 what a great costume. when I lived at home (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) my mum had one of those things. It reminded me of the living room when I was a teenager. Putting my order in for handspun and handknitted jumper - to match my new shoes.

Thanks! And obviously, this picture was taken AFTER I had finished spinning the straw into gold, which I then hid under my many clothing layers.

haha! everyone kept saying; "bobbing for tennis balls!? does that work?" I told them I had nooooo idea! we were just going to try!

it was surprising how many showed up!

Beautiful, I sure hope they appreciated all that you did to give them an authentic look. I remember when my son had a field trip to a llama ranch and the ladies were spinners. They wore tank tops and shorts and it just didn't have the same atmosphere that your outfit created.
