All spellings of center/centre are incorrect depending on who you ask. I love my language.
You use 're' expect when the word follows a preposition or a proper noun or in the case of Molson. I made that up, but it accurately depicts how I feel about my language and spelling in general. |

"The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary. "

So what you're saying is Canadians are caught in between American and British English ?
Kind of like you guys are caught in between French and English ? talk about bipolar cultural diversity ![]() PS: Vous êtes du Quebec non ? Donc vous êtes francophones ? J'aimes bien le Canada, je trouves la dualité linguistique intéressante. Quote:

Getting back to the original problem, I would like to point out that just because an ebook is bought from the UK is not a guarantee that it has British spelling, I have bought ebooks from Amazon uk with American spelling. I would assume that it depends on the the publisher and where the book was originally first published.

I wonder if money would be saved if all literature used American spelling.
Less ink. |

Actually I would be fine if every English speaking place used the same spelling. Why it should be American I don't get. I think it would be best if we just came up with a completely new spelling. And since when did ebooks use ink? Last edited by bob123; 11-03-2011 at 04:12 PM. |
