All spellings of center/centre are incorrect depending on who you ask. I love my language.

You use 're' expect when the word follows a preposition or a proper noun or in the case of Molson. I made that up, but it accurately depicts how I feel about my language and spelling in general.

So what you're saying is Canadians are caught in between American and British English ?
Kind of like you guys are caught in between French and English ?
talk about bipolar cultural diversity

PS: Vous êtes du Quebec non ? Donc vous êtes francophones ? J'aimes bien le Canada, je trouves la dualité linguistique intéressante.

As for measurements, it's a mess in Canada. While most of the time both the metric units and imperial units are listed, for usage, it's mostly (again, in my experience):

Speed and distance are in kilometers/meters, drinks and liquid in general are in liters, and food is in grams/kilograms, height is feet and inches, a house is square feet, electronics are measured in inches...
Outside temperature is in Celsius, but cooking is mostly in Fahrenheit.

It's not easy being Canadian.

I prefer to see us as the link between the two. We stay in touch with both, have great relations with everyone, get all the good stuff that we can from both, while continuing to be different at the same time!

Getting back to the original problem, I would like to point out that just because an ebook is bought from the UK is not a guarantee that it has British spelling, I have bought ebooks from Amazon uk with American spelling. I would assume that it depends on the the publisher and where the book was originally first published.

Good point. However I was able to view the first chapter of an ebook from a UK store and it did have British spelling. That same book I bought from kobo with American spelling. As the book is set in England I wish I could buy the book from the the UK store, but the publishers do not allow them too sell it to me.

I wonder if money would be saved if all literature used American spelling.

Less ink.

Actually I would be fine if every English speaking place used the same spelling. Why it should be American I don't get. I think it would be best if we just came up with a completely new spelling.

And since when did ebooks use ink?
