I'm not really sure why people are shocked as this has been the case for years.

I've never seen it before and I typically read across 3 devices....synced via Amazon.

Why get worked up about this one DRM is easily removed then you can read it on an unlimited number of devices.

It's a pita to manually figure out where you are and end up re-reading 10 or 20 pages or parts thereof... | |

I've never run into that either, and I've read hundreds of Kindle books. My guess is the publisher didn't know enough about what s/he was doing to properly set the number of devices. As clueless to eBooks as some publishers have proven themselves, they might not even know what "number of devices" means. Also, Gizmodo is often questionable in the material they present. For example, that article has an image of a library of Kindle books on some device and by showing those books one might get the impression that none of them can be viewed on multiple devices. The Steve Jobs book can be as I have it on multiple devices now. Last edited by jswinden; 11-02-2011 at 10:13 AM. |

You know, I really don't know if I've ever seen it or not because all the DRM is removed from my books within 5 seconds of purchase .... but again, just like the other thread ... there's nothing in the product description. The other thread is a textbook but not this one apparently. What's up with this not putting the device limitation on the page? Are the publishers just trying to sneak in some new limitations and waiting to see if anybody makes a fuss? Quote:

You can have 50 devices/apps on one account, that's not a problem. You can't download a DRMed title to more than 6 (generally) of those devices at the same time. The author claims that CS has informed him that the title is restricted to one device. The people on KB are posting pictures of this title opened on multiple devices. Someone is very mistaken.
