What official sony cases will fit a 505?

Got an old 505 without a case, and finding legit sony 505 cases is pretty hard/impossible without buying an entire new reader.
I have read elsewhere that 600 cases will fit but what about 650 ones?

Ideally, id like to get a lighted case since most of my reading is done before going to sleep(would use rechargeable batteries)

Thank you.

M-edge can be a good place to start and they do sell a good ereader light that integrates with most of their cases.

Thanks, but i was more interested in the official sony ones. Like for instance, does the PRSACL6 fit the 505? How about the PRSACL65?

I like the magnetic snaps on the sony cases. Ideally, id like to find a black 505 case, but i dont know if they even made them(just brown, red and blue?) and even if they did, i would think it would be impossible to find and extremely expensive since from what i read here, the quality of cases has gone down substantially with every new version sony releases.

Cannot help you with official covers other than suggest you look at eBay via that link in my post above, or see if some of the online stores have old stock.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Reader

This link just above has the sizes of each ereader that provides a ready reckoner to assist in getting a "substitute" but I doubt an official Sony ereader cover for a specific model will fit another model well.

Another option would be to check the Mobileread marketplace.

If you agree for a case without a light, then I would suggest the original Sony case Sony Leather Case
Original Sony cases are the best in my experience. Both, in design and the quality.

With light but I dislike them. Too heavy and too big.

I picked up an official lighted cover for my 505 for $12.50 right after Sony introduced the 600.

It was nice, it was black - I far preferred the light wedge to any other ereader light. No hot spots, no glare, just a nice even glow. I didn't find it too big or too heavy.

The 600 is just a *smidge* taller than the 505. I had to really work to get my 505 cover to fit my 600. It's possible that an official 600 cover might be a little loose on a 505. The M-edge 600 covers fit fine.

That would be perfect except they dont ship outside of the EU(I'm in north america) and also seems a bit expensive.... and it would be even more expensive if they agreed to ship it to North america, since i'm betting the cost of postage would be pretty high.

I found a new prs-600 case for under $10usd, so i guess i'll go with that one(Its red though, and apparently it'll be a little loose, so i'm not too happy about either of those things... beats having a naked case, or using a cheap neoprene slip cover though)

I used the red 600 case with my 505. It was only slightly loose but still secure. I liked it. I also had the black light-wedge case and hated it for the reasons that astra listed. I used a mini Book Owl clip-on light instead.

Yeah, after doing more research on it, the light-integrated cases do seem like a bad investment. I'll still keep an eye out for a proper fitted sony prs-505 case(ideally in black, without a light snake or wedge) but for now the prs-600 case will do.

I picked the prs-505 up for $70, so spending another $30(my estimation of what that black one on ebay would end up costing me) on the case, imo, would be silly.

Thanks for all the help, folks.
