Other Dutch users, me included, all report having the 1.0.00.09010 version.

I don't think it's a EU thing: I am in Spain (also EU... at least for the moment), and my T1 version is 1.0.00.09010.

I noticed this quote buried in a post about fonts (see #29):

Quote:
Most of my crashes are not related to any font change, but we found out that there are 2 firmwares, and that the second one (1.0.00.09270) doesn't have the problems, we asked Sony to release that version for the public, but Sony doesn't want to.
Just thought I'd point it out here, since it seems particularly relevant to this thread.

So, at this point I know Sony has plans to release an update for the T1 to handle automatic delivery. So I'm puzzled by two questions that will probably never be answered:

1) Why are there two firmware versions out there in the first place? And what the heck does it fix that needed to be pushed out before the planned update, but wasn't worth pushing out to the folks who got the first batch?

2) Who from Sony said "they don't want to" release the update now shipping on devices? Was it a customer service rep who has about as much knowledge as I do, or someone deeper in engineering?

I can kinda understand not wanting to release an downloadable update when you have another update around the corner (it's kinda pricy), but it's strange to ship two different firmware versions like this unless there was a last minute hardware change.

That said, since a full-flash can be done... I wouldn't be surprised if someone can dump the newer firmware and use the flashing tools used to root the T1 to apply it to a device with the older firmware. No idea if it is safe though.

I wonder if porkupan can copy the firmware from one T1 to another so we can get the updated firmware off of jurriaan's T1?

This morning a user of the new 1.0.00.09270 firmware version reported the same bug. So this version doesn't solve this issue. So I guess pushing Sony to release this will not solve anything, guess we have to wait until Sony finds a real solution.

Same firmware here.

I checked via the Sony AU website yesterday and the only software updates available for the T1 were for the PC software and ADE.

Somehow doubt that Sony are going to be that quick to release new firmware while still asking for users to report their issues with the device.
