Yep agreed. Definitely some interesting stuff in that!

Then Jobs' biography gets the same reaction from me as all of his products: "Hah! Are you kidding? You really think I'm going to pay that much for that?"

I wouldn't pay $10 for an ebook, let alone nearly double that. $17? That's insane.

Interesting enough, the Apple pricing policy is starting to change. There is an article on the NY times on that.

The 499 iPad price point has been tough for competitors to meet with the same features. 199 for a latest gen smartphone is likewise very competitive. And the MacBook Air's new price point has proven challenging for new ultra book manufacturers.

It's not clear that earlier surgery seven years ago would have saved Jobs (although of course it might have). Here's a link to an interesting post by a physician on this topic: http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/20...e_medicine.php

For thiose who complain about price, I'm going to go out a limb and predict it will top the list of ebook bestsellers by next week. Its not overpriced if lots of people are willing to buy it at that price. Capitalism 101.

Yep. Market demand is on the side of this book. At least the Kindle edition is a LITTLE cheaper than the hardback!

No doubt, but I'm going to wait on the second-hand paperbook, so there!

(either that or the jolly roger version!)

<shrug> If it's a book I really wanted to read (and I'm talking in general here, not the Steve Jobs biog specifically) then I'll happily pay the asking price; certainly, I've paid way more than $17 for an ebook, no problem. Of course, your mileage/willingness/wallet/perceived sanity may vary

I don't believe that the book is a "product" of Steve Jobs or that he has much to do with the price. I believe in fact that he is dead.

Oh I'm not saying it isn't going to or hasn't already been selling like hotcakes.

I'd just prefer my hotcakes to be a bit cheaper!

If it's too expensive you know what to do ...
