I believe Mr M is OK. He squeak purred on the phone to me this morning. I think he still has trouble jumping.

But I have been away since the 20th Sept and not seen him!

I should get home (soon I hope

) just in time to take him for his annual check and jabs. The vet will give him another going over then.

Awwww! I used to cat sit for friends who had to visit the parents at Xmas - I was the only person they knew who would hold the phone down for them to talk to their cat! And not laugh at them. So I know how important these phone check-ins can be - for both of you.

Hoping you get home - and all is well with Mr. M at this check-up!

I know it must be killing you. Whenever I have to leave the house for longer than my normal work hours, I always worry that the dogs are getting concerned. Then when I do return, I am attacked at the door by both of them as if I had just returned from an overseas trip.

folks. Bloke is getting more kitty cuddles than ever now I am away. Hopefully they are consoling each other.

Anyway as pooh said last time I went away. When I get back I will be in for a few days of velcro kitty.

I'm trying to wake up, which is hard on a Sunday before 8am!
In just over an hour we're going to go, with friends and their kids, to the Efteling (themepark). We've done the every fall/winter for the last couple of years and it's great fun except that it's very early for a Sunday morning!

Floods of tears in our household, as our neighbour's Abyssinian, who would often drop round our garden for a visit, was run over and killed two days ago. Their family is absolutely distraught, and won't even leave the house at the moment.

Wife took round flowers and chocolates last night, no much of a substitute, but what can you do?, and ended up have a crying party...

Oh.

I'm so sorry for their loss and yours. The pain of losing a pet is very deep. We lost our Tiger the same way last year and I still have moments when I get sad thinking about him.

Very, very sad.

One reason (and the main reason) all of my cats have been 100% indoor cats - or only outside on a leash. All it takes is a split second of inattention - from either the driver, or the cat, - and tragedy!

Yes. We have been debating whether to let our housebound cats out to explore, and that door has been firmly closed as a result.

I went to a local farmer's market today that I hadn't been to before. Had a great time -- bought some local greek yogurt, some granola, and some naan to go with the pumpkin soup I made today. (Link to the recipe and a picture on the recipe thread.

) The weather was just perfect for a day outside.
