My mother cannot stand mint or menthol. Thus, it is difficult for her to find a toothpaste that she likes. Many many years ago someone brought her Blend-A-Med from Germany. She loves it. Since then she hunts for it. she claims she cannot use any other. Whenever someone travel somewhere she would ask them to bring it if they come across it. There is no Blend-A-Med in Israel. She doesn't give up on it and spends time and energy on worrying about such a trivial thing. I told her to change her attitude. Completely. There is no Blend-A-Med in Israel. Period. Forget about it. Move on. That's life. There are so many other important things to think about.
When I moved to the UK, I realised that there is no Kefir or curd cheese (it is something like cottage cheese but different). I used to buy it in Israel. Curd cheese was my daily breakfast for many years (at least 10 years). You can buy it anywhere in Europe. Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, all of the Eastern Europe. England? Tough luck. I could chase it all over the England. Order it from a few Russian shops in England. Make my life difficult. I accepted the reality and gave up.

You are not allowed caffeine.
Period.
Forget about coffee. Find a long term easily obtainable substitute. It might take time to get used to it. It took me 2 years to get used to drinking tea without sugar and stop making every time I made a cup of tea.

Try roasted mate. Go through different herbal teas/tisanes. Find the most suitable for you.
Do not postpone it for tomorrow. Start doing it today. In a long run you will benefit from it.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a new online shop (high street shop in London).
Look at the choice of handmade herbal infusions
It is WOW! I am sure you can find at least one that you like. Allegedly, many of them have lots of health benefits

I think you got the gist by now. I zip it.
I think I am ready for another drink.

I kind of agree with him. It does make your life very complicated, searching for those products, and maybe it keeps you from discovering another new taste...Just my 2 cts.
We have just been powerless for 6 hours...and still no landline and no broadband. This is why I don't like the start of the raining season. But on the positive side, for lack of entertainment, we went through our stuff in the garage and could throw out 5 huge garbage bags, stuff we will not have to carry in thr new house. Yay!

soundsabitbombastic.

I spent a couple of hours in the garden reading book.
I guess it was the last warm day of the year 2011, until the (last) spring 2012. Sunny +18°C.
While whiling my time in the garden I consumed a few cups of green tea.
2 infusions of Liu An Gua Pian, Chinese green tea.
Good tea. However, although it is more expensive than Mao Feng (Yellow Mountain Fur Peak), it is less likeable than the latter.
Finished a cup of Sencha Uji. As I have remembered there is no grassy flavour. Although, I cannot say I liked it as much as before, somewhat lacking on flavour. I steeped it off the top of my head. 1 heaped tea spoon, 1min, 80°C. When I looked into my notes I realised that I had to put 2tsps. So, it was probably user error, not Sencha's flaw.

P.S. can I say While whiling my time? It is difficult to concentrate when Katy tells me quite loudly a story of how she kissed a girl

It was one of my favourite when we moved 2 years ago. Getting rid of old and unneeded junk (waste that's, not what some of you, naughty, thought. I know you did )!

Earl Grey vanilla tea in my cup.

It's a beautiful, sunny day here, too. I've got to work on some research today, but I will get in some pleasure reading as well

I will also take a walk to the store later to see what sort of cases they have on sale for my new iPhone 4s when it finally arrives this week

I will have to revoke my membership to the non-smartphone club. I've really had need of internet access on the go quite a few times this year, and I'm really excited to get my new device. I will be making good use of Skype and Pages, to be able to read my documents on the go. I will keep my Nokia as a back-up phone.... I feel like a bit of a traitor. Sorry Nokia, you've served me well for many, many years. I'll look into getting another Nokia phone when the windows phones are released.

Also, I'm trying to teach myself Old Irish. Any suggestions for books and learning materials?

Thanks for the sentiments - I didn't say I wouldn't look into alternatives, but after some many years of multiple coffees a day, it's going to be a hard habit to break. And as I travel so much, carting alternative infusions around with me isn't always going to be easy...

I don't like coffee. The closest I get is dessert coffees, and I can say I honestly drink them more for the sugar than the coffee.

I also don't like beer...Any of them.

My husband loves finding new beers, including flavored beers. He got all excited when he found a chocolate beer for me to try...it tasted like beer.

As for my current beverage..I'm drinking Lipton Green Tea Citrus.

Let me join the cohort of suggestion dispensers.

A plastic container with your favorite instant deca coffee to take along with you during your travels? A small one for business meetings and a larger one in the bag for longer trips?

If you move on the 8th of November that would be St. Martin that protects the people who move. It is traditional here. When people move they say I made St. Martin. St. Martin of Tours.

Survived
Survived the jogging that is.

The last cuppa today.
Liu An Gua Pian.
A good Chinese green tea to drink after jogging
Over this weekend I made up my mind regarding Liu An Gua Pian and Mao Feng.

2 weekdays then 5 days short break. Wednesday - London. Gin pub for Her. Tea tasting and shop for Him. Bread bakery for both.
2 days...

I'm back in the saddle again
Out where a friend is a friend
Where the longhorn cattle feed
On the lowly gypsum weed
Back in the saddle again

Ridin' the range once more
Totin' my old 44
Where you sleep out every night
And the only law is right
Back in the saddle again

Whoopi-ty-aye-oh
Rockin' to and fro
Back in the saddle again
Whoopi-ty-aye-yay
I go my own way
Back in the saddle again

Good morning, everyone! No more doctors ( I won't miss 'em!) no more hospital food ( I won't miss that either,) and unfortunately, no more young student nurses who all want to meet the 'foreigner' patient. (It was a teaching hospital and there were dozens of them! During the day I couldn't get any reading done because of all the giggling young nurses coming into my room to 'practice Engrish!')

It's nice to have my own tea again though. So this morning I'm starting off with some East India Company's "Assam" tea, and a plate of Engrish Muffins. Somehow, Japanese English muffins just don't taste the same... The tea sure tastes great, though! Think I'll have another cup and catch up with all the past posts before I go for a ride!
