Both are high risk activities (the trainer is a hottie with a nice oxford accent, how often do you get this combination ? )
Perhaps he should buy a two seater sports car?

Great for helping lost young ladies.

Let him get the bike, less chicks that way.

Long story short, one day a mountain of a guy came in (with appropriate biker gang gear) to have x-rays. Seems he woke up in a ditch with his bike.

I pulled up at a intersection once and didn't notice the wheels were either side of a dish drain making the bike about 4 or 5 inches higher. When I put my leg down there was nothing there. The bike was going over and it took me all of my strength to stop it. I'm sure my left leg is still shorter than my right.

Many years ago when I was cycling (as on the bicycle), the chain broke (no mountain biking). Ended up with the right arm broken and twisted (the lower part was dangling). I still have a nice huge scar from a surgery to show for it.

Once the road took a curve, and I didn't..

120 km/h, flying 17 metres, landed on my back well up in the mossclad hillside.
Personal result: *Huge* gash in my self esteem, two broken ribs and a broken thumb.
Bike result: $4.000 repair.

I did not pass out and found that I had the left side mirror in my hand.

Luckily it ended well. I sold that "hell-machine" shortly after repair and bought myself a smaller 900cc parallel twin so that the horns stayed inside and not growing out of my forehead.

Ohhohh #### I'm laughing while typing.
I remember flying over the car and the looking at the driver's face just before the bike hit him. You really should indicate before turning if someone's overtaking.

I didn't understand much out of this post.. Shouldn't one drive motorcycle after reaching 45?

My dad took the MC-lisence at age of 56 and is still both alive and driving MC. He's reached well over 60, and noe accidents or incidents.

PS! What is "DH" short for?

I think the point my bro-in-law was trying to make was that too many of his friends wanted to learn after 45 how to ride like he had ridden when he was 22... Perhaps waiting until 55 means the hormones have cooled off and one can ride sensibly - as my 85 year old friend does

I wholeheartedly agree with the learning to pick it up. I've picked both of mine up after a couple of oil-slick drops. And, my mom had a wonderful drop at the post office several years ago.

She owned a Virago 1100 (nearly 500 lb bike, mom weighed MAYBE 100 lbs at the time). She had a little tool-bag affixed to the handlebars. She took the bike out for a spin, and went to drop some stuff in the blue-box. It was a little warm outside, and so the leather straps that held the bag to the handlebars had come a little loose which caused it to slide between gas-tank and top part of the triple-tree (I think that's what it's called...). She went to accelerate and the handlebars wouldn't turn. Ultimately, the bike fell on her and pinned her to the curb. Mom managed to pick the bike up and ride it home, after which she collapsed on the couch with 3 broken ribs among other injuries.

Dear husband? hahahahaha, but I don't know, would like to know, like you,

Actually, I think you're right . Bought my 1st motorcycle when I was 34. I never had that desire for high speed on a bike, but at 34 and married I think you asses danger better than if you are 20 something. The macho man spirit is dormant, lol.

I don't have children but I would never authorize a kid younger than 20 to ride one. Group pressure is too strong. You end doing stupid things.

For sport touring like mine, a fz6r, I do recommend being in good fit or younger than 60. No offense, but need good back and arm muscles to have a nice control. I know a coworker thought, that has a litter bike and he is on his 60s though. Great rider! But he's in good shape, maybe better than me and strong guy.

I remember coming late to a Motorcycle Club (MC) function (I was the president of the MC) and pulling into my designated parking spot with the whole club watching.

As I was rolling to a stop, I reached for the kickstand, and my pants leg got caught on the shifter lever. It must have been hilarious to watch my beautiful new Moto Guzzi slowly fall over as I frantically tried to extricate my leg from the shifter.

Yes, DH means dear husband, but as he would say himself, just call him superman .
I am not even going to go into the age thing, because as we all know, superman never gets old, which annoys mrs superman quite a bit. The bike is not a midlife crisis thing, sadly, because that at least would go away....
