Should the Netronix be in fact the CyBook Gen3.1 I have to say I am a little disappointed should I receive the 'old' version (which will be the case).
Dude! I've GOT an EB-100 and a Cybook Gen3. They're sitting right in front of me. There's not 10mm difference in width or height - although there may well be as much as 1/2mm difference in thickness. Weight? They weight almost exactly the same according to my (analog - spring type) scale. I've no doubt the EB-2xx series will be different, but except for the white (ivory) case, I can't tell the difference in the exterior of the two. The buttons are the same size and place, the SD slot and the USB and headphone plugs are in the same position - it's the same damn machine on the outside. Inside? Well I haven't cracked either open to see.

P.S. I may have an "old stock" device, but it's what they shipped me as of two weeks ago.

the specs were pretty sloppily done. For example 170 ppi and 166 ppi are equated to the same.

The update of firmware beyond the Build 538 has not been released yet. However, I have information direct from Bookeen that the forthcoming firmware update will work on both the slightly-older version of the Gen3 (the one I have) and the newer hardware that new buyers are going to receive. As for what has been changed in the hardware... I cannot say.
