Somehow, this make reconsider keeping my K3 3G instead. By the way, visited the BB close to home a few min. ago and they don't have the Kindle Touch Wifi in display, only boxes. Last edited by jocampo; 10-14-2011 at 06:03 PM. |

Eeeek that's brutal it's included up here in Canada, although our cell phone plans are worse overall.

But, that does not fix the issue of International travels. That's why I love my K3 3G 'cause the service is free. |

Finally saw the K4 at my grocery store over the weekend. I was surprised at how small it was. Looking forward to seeing the Touch.

I love that it's tiny and light! I read for hours yesterday with no problems. My arm was a little sore but that's because I held it for over 5 hours straight.

the more I use my K4, the more I'm having second thoughts with getting Kindle Touch. It is bigger and heavier than K4. I used to have a Nook Touch and I often touch the screen accidentally, it was annoying. I dont have that problem with K4.

I am now waiting for the special offer on the 50% off covers to show up that Amazon said was upcoming so I can get a decent case. I looked at the lighted case but I don't like how it's made this time. The light doesn't look like it will illuminate well enough. If you look at the pic of the little girl reading it doesn't give even lighting. Right now I am looking at a Marware case that is also a stand. |

The Touch 3G is only 7.8 ounces, that's even lighter than my Kindle Keyboard, and that feels like a feather in my hand. But I can see your point touching the screen accidentally. In addition, I think I'd miss the page turn buttons on the side that my KKey has.

Amazon should just offer half price covers with the purchase of SO Kindles. That would be another incentive to purchase one from the get go.

Oh I would like that but I can wait. It's a good thing you have a month to purchase it once the offer shows up. My birthday is next month so I'm hoping it shows up then when I got the extra.

K4 NT just came in
Well, my K4 NT just cane in yesterday afternoon. It was easy to work. I have been reading on some type of ereader for maybe 15 years, starting with a Sharp PDA, going to several Palms, including a Palm Centro phone, a Win phone and my present Moto Bravo Android.
The buttons are easy to work and I think I like them better than the touch screen on my Bravo. Actually, the small screen didn't bother me. Maybe that's because I have used one for so long. I'm only 73 so I guess my eyes are still pretty good. The K4 screen is bigger & better, unless the light is dim. It was do big deal to charge up and download books. I had been doing it to K4PC and my phone so there wasn't much difference. I bought a $.99 book to try it that way. One click and I recall it was there. Then downloaded a few old ones with "Download & transfer via USB." A drag & drop and it was on my K4. I guess I did have to click "Show in Folder." I have also bought books from several different dealers with various DRM and Amazon is by far the easiest. And I have tried the others, eReader.com, Nook for PC, Kobo for PC. Why should I mess with Adobe when I can click once or click twice and drag & drop and I'm reading. I did order a cover. Something Amazon had. It was one you can stand the Kindle up on the table and read while eating. I do that a lot. i also wanter a cover because someone on these forums mentioned that a cat stepped on their screen and broke it. I reminded the wife to lay the K4 face down until we get the case as we have 3 inside cats. Speaking of cats, I notice a lot of posters here on Mobile Rear have cats in their avatar. Don't dog lovers read. Maybe it's because dogs are your buddy and you don't use him/her for a little cutsie picture. Cats are just other occupants of your house that don't pay rent and demend to be fed and scratched several times a day. But, I digress. Anyway, I like my K4 NT so far. It's easy to use, has good contrast for reading and was dirt cheap. Seems like a couple of years ago, people were praying for a $99 reader. What's not to like. |
