Supplements are one of those things with good/bad info on both sides. The current drivel in the newspapers, magazines, TV etc has it that you have a better chance of dying if you take vitamins.

A few vitamins, in large dosages, can cause serious problems. No dispute there. But those who are interested in taking supplements will easily find that info.

Some ninny in power is going to read one of those asinine studies and start regulating more sh_t.

Lets make up more headlines that are probably true;
Elderly more likely to die from touching public door knobs/handles. Many are catching colds and flues resulting in death due to respiratory/cardio failure!

Moving bowls deadly to elderly, straining causes strokes and heart attacks!

Driving a car is killing not just the elderly, but others too!

Common household items proven dangerous to the elderly. Footstools, extension cords, and pet cats are killers!

I can pretty much guarantee that if you take vitamins you WILL die.
For that matter, I can pretty much guarantee that if you do NOT take vitamins you WILL DIE!

I know what you mean!
My mother has been losing weight this past year and she thinks leggings are great pants. She doesn't wear a skirt or tunic over it, she wears them as pants. Also, she has been buying shirts a size too small because she wants to wear that size, the problem is she hasn't lost enough weight to get away with that.

Both me and my sister have been trying to tell her, gently, that what she's wearing isn't flattering but she disagrees. I've also been losing weight and I've told my sister that if I get the same tendencies she's allowed to smack me.

I'm just going to ignore all this spandex discussion.

Why is the Kindle deal of the day longer than a day? It's the same book as yesterday morning (afternoon in the UK) and there's still 16 hours left on it. Shouldn't it just be the Kindle hot deal or something?

We already have the Christmas tree lights on the shelf (in the Netherlands we also celebrate "Sinterklaas" on December 5). Mind you, we sell the all year round, from 27 December until 6 December we call them "party lights" and from 6 December until Christmas they're Christmas lights.

A traditional Dutch treat for Sinterklaas are "pepernoten" and they usually go on sale in August. By the time it's Sinterklaas everybody's fed up with pepernoten because they've been eating them for months.

This morning a salesman of one of our suppliers came to visit. One of the things they sell are tools. He proudly told me of a new tool-line they had and that it might be something for me because it's especially designed for women and it's pink....

I think my father nearly died laughing because he knows I don't do pink. I can understand that there are tools made for women because, in general, our hands are probably smaller but why pink?!

For now I just keep using my own, made for men, tools that are nice and black with the occasional bright yellow or red grip.

LOL! Still, they (the sale guys) do have a point. I have a full large tool box of mens tools, in my garage. But when I passed a "lady's set" with purple handles, and in a nice small carrying bag, I bought it anyway. It lives in my kitchen, and is thus more available for small jobs around the house. Pink and purple will sell as "impulse" purchases.
