Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.

Good morning, all! Happy Wednesday! Great tea today... my unbranded Keemun, but really bad croissants! I saw some fresh mini croissants in the bakery section of the market and thought I'd save myself some trouble of making them again... Bad move. Texture more like bread than croissant, and so sweet I think I need an insulin shot! I'll double up on the tea to make up for them!

Top of the line Cuisinart machine. I figured that if I was going to do something, I should use the best tools. It made up to a two-pound loaf (1, 1.5, and 2lb) and had three different 'crust' settings, 12 programmable auto modes in the menu, delay start button, etc.

As for the recipes, of course the ones that came with the machine, as well as several other machine recipe books. Still, nothing that would come close to 'good' bakery bread for me.

Quote:
I have only made two loaves but they have both been as good as anything I can get at a bakery.
Are you shopping at Japanese bakeries again?

Quote:
Another problem that I have read about is that people use regular flour for making bread in bread machines. You should use flour that is marked as "bread" flour (especially for the white flour) or stone ground for your wheat flour. This adds texture and makes the bread that much better.
As I said before, I'm not a great baker, but I do know the difference in flours. I regularly make my own croissants, biscuits, scones, etc... Small stuff. And I can bake a really good Challah bread, but no others that will rival a bakery. The machines just don't give me the kind of finished bread I want.

I will say that I used the machine regularly to mix and knead dough... I just don't like the way they bake them. It made the very best pizza dough for the deep-dish pan-style pizza! The machine was very good for that, as well as for the 'first rise.'

Now... another cup of unbranded Keemun!

I am looking forward to trying the real milk oolong from The Chinese Tea Company. I think that the one I have is steamed over milk. Its flavour is so powerful and sweet

I am also very curious about their Dragon Well to compare it with NBTea's. Interesting, that I didn't know anything about the tea. Ordered about 14 samples of Chinese green tea from NBTea and liked Dragon Well only.

We have a very good bread machine, which we use in France in the summer, and were delighted. I brought it to Germany after the holidays two years ago, used the same mix, and the bread was much drier and not as nice.
We brought it back to France, and the bread was delicious again. I really believe the water quality makes a big difference.
Since my water here originally is saline water that is treated to consumption, but is still pretty disgusting (we wash our teeth with it, but that's pretty much it) I am not even thinking of getting the bread machine here. Even the famous Britta Filter (I don't like them. They are very good, but Britta is Superman's ex name) do not change the water taste, and I don't even want to know what is in it. Of course I could bake bread with mineral water, but that's a huge hassle considering we want to eat less bread, not more....

A similar problem with water in England.
I use Brita Filter for my tea. Otherwise the tea tastes awful.

If I were to apply the same attitude towards the Angel's ex I would have to forfeit using anything that has any type of lock except retina recognition ones. This is the only lock that comes to my mind that would not require any key...
