That's actually a matter of taste. Lots of people like to have the book title up there (or even title + author).

True. This has been under discussion internally for the past few weeks and will eventually appear

We are well aware of this. Sadly, the current SDK we use (RMSDK) doesn't offer us as much control as we'd like to have. We are considering other options, but adding a correct image support (zoom, open in fullscreen, save/copy...) isn't easy right now.

I'm not quite sure why using the dictionary would fix this issue, we'll have to take a look at it.

We need to take a look at that. In theory it should be supported, but some people seem to be reporting that it isn't.

I like the update 1.54 - it fixed a few nit-noid bugs which had crept into the app with 1.50. My personal top list of features:

1. OPDS support!!! Before I buy the app for my wife, I want her to be able to DL ebooks directly from our collection, and not have to first go to a web browser to do it.

2. When launching, return to the book/page you were on when last using the app.

3. Have the night/day mode theme apply to all menus & pages. When I'm in bed at night, and launch Mantano, I get a bright white screen while waiting for the splash screen, despite being in night mode. Practically blinding!

4. Improve hyphenation - currently a left smart quote is treated as a letter, so the end of a line will have the curly quote, followed by a hyphen, then the next line down will actually have the beginning of the real text.

Thanks, Carl.

Thanks! I'll wait a bit with creating the rest of my collections then.

I must say, I really love the app so far. I always highlight errors in my books so I can update my source later, and I must say, I really love the way Mantano has implemented the highlight list. Especially the delete function. It's the best I've seen so far (and I've tried a lot of applications!) So far, it was worth every euro I paid for it.

Now, implement the HTC pen SDK and it would be perfect

please compare performance of mantano with bluefire reader when performing these two tasks. since two programs use the same pdf rendering engine. I suppose that mantano can do as good as bluefire,or even better

title of files after import

Hi! I am trying out montana reader now, and I just imported my files. Sadly, the program automatically tries to extract the titles from the metadata and does not use the titles that I gave the files. How can I change this, so that montana uses the titles that I actually gave the files?

I had a firmware update so my device was rebooted. When I opened the reader again, all collections were gone (again). Again, the books that were already in a collection, are still in their respective collection (I can check that by showing all books not in a collection), but the collection list itself is empty.

You will need to change the metadata in Calibre, Sigil or manually to get the Titles you want to show up.

You can change the title in Mantano to match the file name, either in the My Books view by press-and-hold to bring up Info, or when reading by bringing up Info. Tap on the title to edit it. (You can also set Language and edit Tags.)

I don't know if this actually changes the metadata, or if it just gives it a different Mantano display name.

OPDS

Are these the features many have been waiting for:

Quote:
OPDS Catalogs Explorer

- Search for new books in several online catalogs
- Add your own OPDS catalogs
- Directly open a downloaded book in the ebook reader
- Filter by catalog and category
- Full-text book search
I'm trying to find out what's new in version 1.6.

Edit: Just realized I didn't need to look at the Market for the info. New release notes given when you open app after updating.

I'm still waiting for the update that can deal with 'library DRM' ePub/PDF and open/fulfill .acsm files. I have Bluefire and Aldiko for this but prefer Mantano, especially for PDF.

None of them do good landscape on 10" tablet, though. I would like 2 column option for ePub and margin adjustment (one that works). Oddly, I'd like an ADE-like page-number-in-the-margin option also, at least when they are 'real' (print derived) page numbers.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, it is not a feasible option for me, since I have a lot of documents and changing them manually would take forever. Does anyone have other ideas or should I resort to callibre?

review of v1.6

not any visible changes, the biggest change is that version is now 1.6.

the most wanted improvement I think is to eliminate the delay(fading) effect when dragging page up and down or left and right just as bluefire reader does.

the most essential function of an ebook reader is just comfortable reading.
the library management function built into mantano is enough(maybe too much),now let's turn to the basic issue of page rendering.

Version 1.61 in the Market.

The ugly grey Frame in PDF is already there.
It doesn´t open a book in the last view (it doesn´t remember reflow, margins)

The German translation has some errors. Please change the following text:

From: "Berühren Sie den Bildschirm um mich zu überspringen" in "Berühren Sie den Bildschirm zum Überspringen"
From: "Meine Katalogen" in "Meine Kataloge"
"Drücken Sie zurück noch einmal um zu beenden" in "Drücken Sie noch einmal Zurück um das Programm zu beenden"
"Eltern" in "Bisher"
"Nach Hinzufügungsdatum" in "Nach Hinzufügedatum"
"Nach letzte Zugriffsdatum" in "Nach letztem Zugriffsdatum"
"Ungelesen Buch" in "Ungelesenes Buch"
"Alle Bücher ohne sammlungen sehen" in "Alle Bücher ohne Sammlungen sehen"
"Sie haben schon keine Notiz erstellt" in "Sie haben noch keine Notiz erstellt"
"Synch and back-uo" in "Syncronisation und Sicherung"
"Collect personal data" in "Persönliche Daten sammeln"
"Swipe" (Links Swipe, Rechts Swipe...) in "Wischen"
Thank You!
