You can use the uninstaller from the latest version. (In fact, for every hack on this thread, you should *always* use the latest uninstaller).

But in your specific case, you don't even need to uninstall it first, you can safely install the latest version on top of it.

yes, you do need to jailbreak and then install NiLuJe's screensaver hack. but it's painless. the screensaver hack put all the original screensavers in a folder when you can access them and puts them in the screensaver folder and then can also put your own graphics file in there too. all your choice.

I purchased a Kindle Keyboard 3G+Wi-Fi just today (Serial number B00A). I upgraded to 3.3 firmware, though I want to do the screensaver hack.

Can I confirm that update_jailbreak_0.9.N_k3gb-3.2.1_install.bin will allow for me to jailbreak the device?

I have the 0.7 jailbreak installed with screensaver and some other hacks. When I try to install the new 3.3 firmware I get an error message that the update was not successful. What do I have to do?

I updated from 3.1 to 3.3, and the only thing I can say is that there seem to be no ill-effects. The only change, apart from the ones documented in the changelog, of course, seems to be an extra message on the "You're finished, before you go" screen stating that readers can go back a page by clicking the page back button. I suppose Amazon was made aware of a significant number of people rating the books they had just finished, and then have no idea of how to navigate away from the screen except by pressing the home button.

Did you try rebooting your Kindle before installing FW 3.3?

Yes, my understanding is that's the one to use if you have FW 3.21 or higher installed on your European Kindle Keyboard 3G.

@f-j-p: Uninstall any intrusive hacks (hint: not the ss or fonts hack) or modifications you might have made over ssh. Might want to check the logs to see which exact file fails the md5 checks.

Yes, I tried rebooting.

FW is 3.1

First it says "Update successfull", then in starts up and does another round of updating; during that process it shows in the bottom right "stage 1 of 2" and then it says "Update was not successfull" and reboots...

Which other hacks could disturb the update process?

NiLuJe will know better than me, but I'd uninstall all hacks (because who knows which one is causing an issue), rebooting between each uninstall, then do a final reboot before performing the FW 3.3 install.

Ok, I uninstalled the following hacks and tried to install the new 3.3 FW afterwards:
* Launchpad - still not updating
* Keybru - yep, that was it, once that was gone, update went through... FW 3.3 now!

A round of updates! JB 0.10.N, SS 0.25.N, Fonts 4.9.N, USBNet 0.35.N

I'll do a quick recap of the changes, but check the detailed ChangeLogs for more info.

It's mostly 'under the hood' stuff, with an updated toolchain, and updated binaries & libraries everywhere, and a more powerful logging system.
