TOC with filenames when exporting from ID55
Hi,
when I export a book from InDesign 5.5 to epub, the navigatinal TOC in iPad and iPhone just contains the names of the individual idd-files in the book - not the headers of these chapters. Like this: intro_text 1_chapter Instead of: Introduction The big lie Even stranger, when I open the toc.ncx file, this is what it looks like: <navPoint id="navpoint1" playOrder="1"> <navLabel> <text>Introduction</text> </navLabel> <content src="intro_text.html#toc_marker-1"/> </navPoint> <navPoint id="navpoint2" playOrder="2"> <navLabel> <text>The big lie</text> </navLabel> <content src="1_chapter.html#toc_marker-2"/> </navPoint> So when the correct names from the headings of each chapter really are inside the <text></text>, why on earth don't they show up in the Navigational TOC?? |

Well, the manifest part typically looks like this:
<manifest> <item id="ncx" href="toc.ncx" media-type="application/x-dtbncx+xml"/> <item id="css" href="template.css" media-type="text/css"/> <item id="e-javla_01_titelsidor" href="e-javla_01_titelsidor.html" media-type="application/xhtml+xml"/> ... and the spine part <spine toc="ncx"> <itemref idref="e-javla_01_titelsidor"/> [etc] - which didn't make me wiser, I must admit. Anything wrong with the output from ID here? |

My swedish is not wat is used to be
![]() It looks fine though in ADE and Sigil. The structure is sound. However, validation gives a problem with the OTF files. You have to look around though, it might be an error in the validation tool. I remember something about errors reported for otf files. |
